About Me

Some quotes that seem to have some sort of personal relevance:

I was a funny little man ... I needed the fans' support to just to get up out of bed in the morning. But luckily, I was blessed with the best fans in the league. For the rest of the day, I needed god's help. But luckily, I was blessed with the best god in the league, too! And boy did he come to play ... That crazy god, always, comes, to play. - Michael Shiver, Fall.
There is nothing scarier in the world, than knowing exactly where you want to go, and having no idea how to get there. Except maybe knowing where you want to go, knowing how to get there, and then having no idea of who you are when you arrive. - Sarah Easton, Fall.
There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of a soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh, is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain. - G'Quon, B5.
    Every accusation is a confession. - ?
If you run with the herd, you're going to step in some manure - ?
Deny the dragon - Sifu Finley
Music is the silence between the notes - Robert Fripp
What we hear is the quality of our listening - Robert Fripp
I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world. - Albert Einstein
You cannot emulate an iconoclast by becoming a curator. - workingthrough.com
You're not black sheep, you're sheep in black. - Peaches on the Rollins Show on MM fans
The dog is an emotionally shallow animal. See, Greg, if you yell at a dog, his ears will go down and his tail will cover his genitals even if he's done nothing wrong. It's very easy to break a dog. But cats make you work for their affection. Cats don't sell out like dogs do. - Jack Byrnes, Meet the Parents
The most important thing in art is the frame. For painting: literally; for other arts: figuratively - because, without this humble appliance, you can't know where The Art stops and The Real World begins. You have to put a "box" around it because otherwise, what is that shit on the wall? - Frank Zappa

Here are some quotes relevant to politics:Politics is the entertainment branch of industry - Frank Zappa
The United States is a nation of laws: badly written and randomly enforced - Frank Zappa
In a time of deceit, simple truth telling becomes a revolutionary act. - George Orwell
Who controls the past ... controls the future: who controls the present controls the past. - George Orwell, 1984
Political language ... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind" - George Orwell, Politics and the English Language.
How strangely will the tools of a tyrant pervert the plain meaning of words! -Samuel Adams, letter to John Pitts, January 21, 1776
Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. - Benjamin Franklin
How soon we forget history... Government is not reason. Government is not eloquence. It is force. And, like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. - George Washington
The storm center of lawlessness in every American State is the State Capitol. It is there that the worst crimes are committed; it is there that lawbreaking attains to the estate and dignity of a learned profession; it is there that contempt for the laws is engendered, fostered, and spread broadcast. - H.L. Mencken
It is the invariable habit of bureaucracies, at all times and everywhere, to assume...that every citizen is a criminal. Their one apparent purpose, pursued with a relentless and furious diligence, is to convert the assumption into a fact. They hunt endlessly for proofs, and, when proofs are lacking, for mere suspicions. - H.L. Mencken
The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naive and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair. -H.L. Mencken
The call for the greater good is merely the soft rattle of the chains of slavery. - Terry Goodkind
We cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home. - Edward R. Murrow
In no part of the Constitution is more wisdom to be found, than in the clause which confides the question of war or peace to the legislature, and not to the executive department. -- James Madison (1793)
To which LS would most likely reply:
Whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain; that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it.- Lysander Spooner
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what to have for dinner. - Ben Franklin
Hint: The US is a Republic, not a pure Democracy.
