Don't SPAM MySpace... Get Rich Ethically

About Me

Hi. My name's Darren.
{everyone shout "HI DARREN"}
For those of you who care, I'm 24 (yeah, I'm young in age, but old in experience). I now live in Smyrna, Georgia after moving here from Utah in December 2006. I have lived several places in my life, and actually lived in the United States for only 7 years of my first 14 years being alive. I was born in Ogden, Utah but my father became a government employee when I was 3, resulting in my family having to move every two years. I grew up in Puerto Rico, El Salvador and Guatemala. After high school, I went to Utah (the place of my birth) for college. Ended up not liking it so much, so I moved to Budapest, Hungary (where my folks were stationed) and started working for the American Embassy as their first Residential Security Coordinator. After two years of that, I got bored and moved to California, since I'd never been there. Lived there for a year, went broke (as many do in California) and moved back to Utah. There I stayed until moving here.
I enjoy many things (you can see some of them in my "interests" box to the left). My favorite is to play piano. I also enjoy playing with my pets (2 dogs and 1 cat) and go on frequent outtings to the "bark park". I'm also a HUGE web enthusiast. I've been "online" for nearly 10 years, and ever since I saw my first web page (at age 14) I've been building online businesses. The early ones failed, as I was still learning. But through the middle of college, I started finding out what works. From that point on, I realized success after success.
I'm looking for people to network with, share ideas, and discuss what works and what doesn't work as far as online business is concerned. If you have a question, or would like to chat, my inbox is always open. Just so you know, my primary focus is MySpace marketing. Which brings me to my next point of interest...
I'm a MySpace Banker . What's that? A MySpace Banker is someone who's taken an oath to market ethically on MySpace, without using SPAM as a tactic.
I hate SPAM as much as you do. Not only do we get it through e-mail, but now our comments, bulletins and inboxes on MySpace are being bombarded by SPAM as well. Everything from "make your penis larger" to "see my nude webcam", even "free iPods and iPhones".
I'm tired of it, as I'm sure you are. MySpace is an excellent place to market and network with others who share similar interests. Unfortunately, due to SPAM, honest and legitimate marketers are getting a bad reputation by comparison.
How do you market on MySpace without spamming? It's easy, if you do it the right way. One question I'm always asked is "Isn't any type of marketing message considered SPAM"? My answer is NO!
SPAM is anything of a commercial nature that is unsolicited and sent in bulk. Meaning, you send it to a bunch of people who don't want to receive it.
Marketing on MySpace follows the same rules of marketing through e-mail. You must target your audience. And they must "ask" to receive your information. If you meet those 2 requirements, then you can send commercial messages all day and not be spamming.
This is easy to do on MySpace, once you know how.
