I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Let's see....I think I'm hilarious, especially when I'm REALLY tired, which is when I crack myself up the most - ask any of my closest friends. Some workmates may have never seen that side of me, but if you ask my poor husband Tom, he will confirm this. He is the poor bugger that usually has to put up with my (quoting Tom): ..weird, simple yet complicated, spontaneous, sarcastic, witty and frustrating' (end Tom's quote) humour. Yet, for some reason, he stays with me. Must be the (I'm not putting what he just said, LOL)....maybe I'm just very lucky. :)
Seriously though, I grew up in a small tropical (read: Bloody hot and humid!) town in north-eastern Australia in the state of Queensland.
I met Tom when he was a US Marine and in Rockhampton (the city in Central Queensland where I went to university) on the dancefloor of a night club when he was in Oz on operation with about 21,999 other US Marines in 1997. In 1998, I followed him over to America, where we were married in 1999.
After living in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts (and learning how to SPELL Massachusetts - Tom is from Boston), various parts of North Carolina and then Florida, we moved to Australia in 2006. After spending almost 8 years of my adult life in America, it is sometimes weird to be back here in Oz.
We have two four-legged babies, Sydney, the Australian Blue Heeler (also known as an Australian Cattle Dog), who we brought over from the US with us; and our latest addition, Boston the Border Collie. :)
Tom and I love travelling and doing outdoorsy stuff, esp. stuff where we can take the dogs with us! :)

I'd like to meet:

I'm lucky enough to have already met the Love of my Life; besides him: Matt Damon, Will Smith. :)
Interesting people from around the world. I love meeting new people and learning about other cultures.

Music:

Everything. I'm fairly eclectic in music taste, although Top 40/dance and hard and classic rock would probably have to be up there as my all-time favs. But, in my collection I have everything from Skid Row to Harry Connick Jr. :) Oh and being a child of the 80's, I LOVE 1980s and 1990's music too :)My favourite SONG of all time though, is ..Don't you (Forget about me)' by Simple Minds.Up there among my top fav bands is U2 and plenty of Aussie rock bands. :)Currently enjoy: No Doubt/Gwen Stefani; The Killers; Wolfmother; James Blunt, Jet; Pink; etc.

Movies:

The Breakfast Club; Spaceballs; The Man From Snowy River; Crocodile Dundee; The Sixth Sense; Double Jeopardy.I'm rather fond of this "documentary" at the moment. Watch it the whole way through, it's hilarious. :)
This is one of my all-time favourite scenes from the 80s movie Spaceballs. :)

Television:

Supernatural; My Name is Earl; The Simpsons; Family Guy; Whose Line is it Anyway?

Books:

Footrot Flats comic series :); Brave New World by Aldous Huxley; Spaceballs: The Book :);

Heroes:

The inventor of bread; My husband Tom (my first living hero, and since he can MAKE bread, then he actually takes the No 1 spot as my hero). :)
