Roxana Damas is a singer, songwriter, and true performer! Born to El Salvadorian immigrants in San Francisco and raised in Latino barrios, she was introduced to a variety of ethnic cultures, and languages. She found common ground with her peers through American pop music and dance. With encouragement from her parents, she started singing and performing to embark on a career in the entertainment business. Currently, she has found her expression as a songwriter and has contributed to a variety of projects that includes; two CD’s from LUVTAXI, a Latin beat band from Sacramento, Trucho G, a Salvadorian Hip-hop artist and ODISEA, a tropical band. As well as participated in regional and international song competitions.Her activism includes advocating for women’s empowerment, youth and immigration issues. Through her combination of social activism and music, she has had the honor to write a song and perform for Rigoberta Menchu (Nobel Peace Price Laureate), as well as sing for many celebreties and politicians such as, Victor Rivas River (Actor Blood in Blood out), Maria Celeste Arraras (Al Rojo Vivo Anchor), CA state Senators, and many more.Roxana Damas performs from the soul. She sings about the world that surrounds her and the beauty and pain that constantly conflicts human kind. Roxana is dynamic, and one of the most passionate performers you will ever see. She brings a fresh sound to the power and struggle of young Latinas/Latinos caught in the bicultural difficulties of being part of the American culture. At the same time, she is able to appeal to all ages and diverse audiences because of the different range of styles she is able to interpret, from traditional Latin sounds (Tropical, Rancheras, Nueva Canción, Oldies, Folk, Flamenco) to modern styles of R&B, Pop, Rock, Reggaeton, etc.
