About Me

Yanice Yvette (born Yanice Y. Carter) was born in Chicago Illinois in 1978. This sultry soul singer/song-writer currently resides in Michigan. Her influences include genres such as 60s & 70s soul, classic R&B, gospel, pop and artists such as Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire, Aretha Franklin, En Vogue, and Yolanda Adams. Yanice Yvette studied classical music since the age of ten and played cello throughout her childhood. In college she went on to play in the Eastern Michigan University Symphony Orchestra. Recently Yanice Yvette recorded several demos showcasing her eclectic vocal and song-writing talents. These songs are a reflection of her life, love, and pain. Yanice Yvette has high aspirations of putting the soul back into R&B, which she feels has been lost in recent years. In the process, Yanice Yvette also dreams of becoming one of the timeless, classic artists of the music industry. She is willing to reach these goals by taking different avenues such as singing solo, in groups, and back-up. Yanice Yvette would also be interested in the option of sharing her song-writing abilities with other artists.
