SONGS FROM THE IRON CHALET!!!!

About Me

Marwood is the voice and songs of London born singer/songwriter Benji Rogers. This anti-hipster folk rock (or frock) revivalist delivers the live show that allow Rogers' voice, personality and music to truly shine.
NYC gal about town Emily Zuzik is originally from Southwestern PA near Pittsburgh. Her blend of catchy pop hooks, rock swagger and soulful vocal dynamics makes her music a treat for the ear and powerhouse show in person.
"With Benji Rogers' stirring and soulful voice and driving guitar hooks, which the Black Crowes would be proud of, Marwood draw you into a world of lush harmonies and compelling rhythms. I defy you not to be singing along at the top of your voice by the second hearing!!" (Jeff Collins, The BBC)
"With smart, soulful and sexy songwriting, Zuzik will need the rest of her life to catch up to her own creativity, which has been in overdrive lately." (San Francisco Chronicle)
Driven by catchy lyricism and influences ranging from Neil Young to Little Feat, Rogers’ finished package (stop smiling!) glows with passion and raw emotion.
Having been driven by catchy lyrical play and early influences like the entire Beatles catalog and the HAIR soundtrack, Zuzik melds soul, rock and pop harmonies in ways you think you’ve heard before but are an entirely NEW package.
Marwood has performed such esteemed NYC rooms as The Bowery Ballroom, The Mercury Lounge and The Knitting Factory as well as London’s distinguished Broadway Market Gallery, the Bedford and Glasgow’s Oran Mor.
Emily’s second album, You Had Me At Goodbye, was critic pick of the week in the Village Voice and San Francisco Chronicle. Additionally, Emily returned from her first UK tour where she played 5 dates to packed rooms and webcast internationally from London’s famous Bedford Globe Theatre.
Marwood albums have been played on hundreds of radio stations in the US and Europe, and charted in the top 30 US Roots Rock Americana Chart, or so he’s been told. Marwood has also been played on both XM and Sirius satellite radio. NYC's Q104.3 (Clear Channel) selected Marwood as one of their top local bands and Blender.com also featured the video for the single "Monday Over Friday" as their video of the day.
Emily’s music has received praises from NYC's The Village Voice and Time Out, as well as Performing Songwriter Magazine's Top DIY Picks. Emily's song "That's the Way" was a semi-finalist in the JANE Magazine Readers compilation, and she also appeared as one of IGN for Men's "Babe of the Day". The video for Emily’s song "Try a New Line on Me" airs regularly on the Austin Music Network and aired nationally on the Trio Network to over 18 million households.
Emily's an Epiphone Guitars endorsed artist, a Bond girl on the cover of Penguin Paperback’s Thunderball, and a Pisces, if you were wondering.
Rogers traveled over 53,700 miles in 2006 on his “One Mile Down The Road Tour”, and he’s tired so make sure you buy him a drink! In case you were wondering.
