------------------------------------------------ The band’s story started in autumn 2003 when Panagiotis Stergiou (vocals and guitar), Haris Papaharalampos (vocals and guitar), Paris Gatsios (drums) and John Christ (bass) decided to form a band that would emphasize their favorite tunes and music. Influenced by a critical and wide range of groups (such as Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Paradise Lost and System Of A Down) the first rehearsals showed that their music would cover and mix hard rock, metal, stoner and progressive characteristics rather than follow a typical standard music path. ..Hatred.. and ..Into the light.. were the first songs of the group and ..Silent Birth.. was decided as the official name of the band.
Their first live appearance was in February 2004 at Cyber’s cafe (Levadia) with a set list consisted of three songs (Hatred, Into the light and Don’t remember). The following year (2004-05) found Silent Birth composing more songs and playing live in local clubs and the open theater of Levadia. In May 2005 Konstantina Gerou (keyboards) joined Silent Birth and became an official member of the band. This line up performed only one live appearance (summer 2005) and Haris P. left the band for personal reasons. The quartet of guitar/bass/drums and keyboards led to a change of the composing style which now appear to be more progressive and more complex comparing to the raw characteristics of the past. Songs like Dressed in Death, A.D.F.R.L., Eclipse, and Birth of Silence mixed the raw energy and the melodic distinctiveness of the compositions. During April 2006 the band entered the studio in order to record the drums for their first demo that would be titled Birth of silence including Hatred, Into the Light, Sad Skies, Shelter, and the self-titled Birth of Silence.
This demo is allready finished and the band will officially present it within their next live appearance. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------
