Evelyn Falls

Formed in May of 2007, Evelyn Falls have had an extremely successful run in the short time they have been together! Opening for the likes of Rallycar, Faber Drive and Ashes of Soma to name a few, Evelyn Falls have established themselves as one of the premier bands on the Windsor scene! Evelyn Falls have also received an overwhelming response to their music on 100.7’s “Rock Indie Show” It is the bands attention to detail and knack for writing great songs that makes this band stand out! Evelyn Falls is the brainchild of guitarist/songwriter Mike Matwijiw. A true guitar virtuoso, Mike’s style is a blend of many schools both old and new! Mike’s playing exemplifies face-melting speed with a ferocity that rivals and often surpasses many of the world’s electric guitar heroes! The one thing that has set him apart from most shredders is that Mike has become a fantastic songwriter! Mike loves to write songs and is blessed with the gift of being able to do both extremely well! Matt Tourangeau (Lead vocals) formerly of “Bitter Green”...joined the band in early January 2008! Matt’s vocals exemplify raw power and grit, filled with emotion and lush in textures! Driven by passion, Matt is a true front man and is very entertaining to watch live! Singers are often pigeonholed as being “just a singer”, but Matt is definitely a musician! His extended range is something that the band is enjoying, as he takes the already stout songs to new heights! Keeping things together on the low end is Brett Sobocan. At only 20 years old, Brett’s musicianship and maturity both belie his age! Brett hammers out tracks in the band’s home studio in very few takes…if not one! He is a pro musician through and through, which often leaves Mike scratching his head in bewilderment! The band feels extremely blessed to have someone of Brett’s stature on board, both musically and intellectually! Finally, on drums is Mark St.Denis! Also coming out of the now disembarked “Bitter Green” Mark is seemingly the final piece of the puzzle! His drumming can only be described as punishing, as he hits his drums as though they have done him wrong! Having said that, Mark isn’t simply a “banger”…he’s a high quality drummer! Evelyn Falls have finally assembled the “All-Star” line up that they have coveted for quite sometime now! 2008 looks to be a very promising year for Evelyn Falls!
