About Me

my real name is wesley but you can call me wes or wester or "el duderino" (if you're not into the whole brevity thing).
i grew up in northern va. i spent my college summers on Star Island off the coast of portsmouth, nh. i'm a unitarian-universalist and a democrat.
i used to get paid to travel around the world and do stuff. now i'm taking 3 years off from work to travel more, volunteer and learn about the problems that plague the poorest people in the developing world.
My major accomplishments in life (so far) are: winning multiple beer chugging contests, hanging out with dwarves on at least three different continents, and filming a re-make of " back to the future " with my dad's beta max when I was a kid...
--------------------------------------------
i think:
- greed is the cause of most man-made problems in the world
-there is a critical lack of ethics practiced in government and big business throughout the world
-the ability to forgive others is a sign of strength. revenge is vindictive and a sign of weakness.
-the bush administration's decision to go into iraq was the worst
thing that the american government has done in my lifetime
-negative emotions and anger reflect emotional suffering. no good
has ever come out of hate. life is too short to be pissed off
all the time.
--------------------------------------------
In my opinion, these things are so bad that they're good:
1) Moustaches
2) Mullets
3) Cheesy dudes in sportscars
4) Sportscars 5) People who claim that they "work hard & play hard"
6) Televangelists
7) Any character on any version of "The Office"
8) Taco Bell burritos
9) Anyone who uses the term "Playa Hayta"
10) Really, really cheap beer (eg Miller High Life)
