Layout by CoolChaserSoulful Sardinia, 31 years old, born in Olbia, a lover of music in every form and genre, an eclectic listener, with a cultural and musical background that ranges between various genres, from jazz to blues, from rock to punk and hip pop, even to folk music, a symbol of his strong link to his home island. But his artistic vein finds its best expression in house music, when in the early 90’s, by chance, he happens to listen to a tape of Red Zone Club (Perugia), mixed by Dj Sauro Cosimetti. A sudden love. From then on he starts deepening his musical culture, with DJ Kocis’ arrival at Olbia, thanks to whom he comes to touch with Garage and Soulful music. DJs such as Tony Humphries, Larry Levan, David Mancuso, Naemm Johnson, Kerry Chandler, Kenny Carpenter, just to name some, become true models to him, he tries to capture their secrets and their mixing techniques, studying the mixset recordings carefully. He purchases a console in 1994, with which he starts to measure himself with the art of Djing, and thus manages to find a musical style of his own that now ranges from more “American” Soulful to Deep House, with some hints to the new musical Electro Soulful stream. With the exception of rare occasions, he has never had the chance to perform in clubs, also because of his University Studies: in 2003 he receives a Bachelors’ Degree in Political Science. With time, his passion has found new stimulation and today he cooperates with an important Dutch Internet Radio, PrepartyRadio.com, where he hosts his own Live Show, “Sardinia’s Flavour”, every Monday from 8:00pm to 10:00pm (Italy Time – 14.00 to 16.00 EST Time), gaining appreciation between listeners and connoisseurs, not to mention the several American DJs included the radio’s Time Schedule, such as Dj David Camacho, NYC Cloud 9, Will Gee The Groove, Dj Mr Michael Menton and so on. Now he also cooperates with another important New Jersey’s Internet Radio, Radio.Jerseydjs.com, where he hosts his new own show, “Sardinia Mood”, every Wednesday from 18.00 to 20.00 (Italy Time – 12.00 to 14.00 EST Time). He is currently a resident DJ at Caffè Renzo, an avant-garde club of the most sophisticated musical scene in Olbia.
