About Me

Introspective, analytical, self effacing, moralistic, honest, stubborn, idealistic, skeptical. A person who tries to accomodate. What obsolete skill are you?
You are 'growing one's own food'.You are guided by two words: 'Live simply.' You value quality over quantity in most things, and you have little use for the materialism and consumerism of modern culture. You know the value of hard work and try to be self-sufficient as much as possible, and what you do you do well. Unfortunately, no man is an island, and you cannot do everything yourself. Your puritanical work ethic makes makes people think that you are weird, and not much fun. Your problem is that growing one's own food has been obsolete for a long time.

My Interests

I love taking photographs. Making clothes and jewelry to wear. Baking and cooking for people. I watch a lot of movies and nature documentaries. I listen to music constantly. I drink liquor, coffee, tea, and enjoy smoking cloves while doing all of the above. I like sleeping, watching people, walking anywhere, driving down roads I've never explored before. Visiting cemeteries. Looking at pictures of dead things like mummies and bog men: though I do have a phobia about small dead animals. Another interest...I tend to collect weird sex stories in my head: the one about John Denver is my favorite. You could say that my humor is perverse and sarcastic. Toilet humor is funny when it is ironic.

..

I'd like to meet:

A pretty brown turkey that wants to move from the country to my apartment in the city. I will dress it in little home-made turkey outfits, but it must be toilet trained.

Music:

Mostly I like sad singer songwriters, though not everyone is sad....Elliott Smith, Richard Buckner, Nick Cave, Freedy Johnston, Nick Drake, Tom Waits, Devotchka, Morrissey, Mirah, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Bright Eyes, Hank Williams, The Smiths, The Cure, R.E.M., Cat Power, Neil Young, Nirvana, Leonard Cohen, Blonde Redhead, The Jayhawks, Mazzy Star, Billie Holiday, Jeff Buckley, Hayden, The Dirty Three, Radiohead, Joy Divsion, Portishead, The Tragically Hip, Smog, Morrissey, The Dresden Dolls, Iron and Wine, Devendra Banhart, Lole y Manuel, Prince, Elvis, Al Green. The list goes on and on.....but it can pretty much be summed up by this video-----so click here friends!richard buckner

Movies:

Last Tango in Paris, Midnight Cowboy, Harold and Maude, The Shining, Cries and Whispers, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Big Lebowski, Microcosmos, Leaving Las Vegas, The Seventh Seal, American Movie, My Neighbor Totoro, Dead Alive, The Searchers, Punch Drunk Love, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Home Movie, Wisconsin Death Trip, Singing in the Rain, Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns, Rebecca, anything by David Lynch, Taxi Driver, A Brief Encounter, The Grapes of Wrath, The Wrong Man, The Wicker Man, and all the Evil Dead movies. Elvis' '68 comeback special.

Television:

Man vs Wild, Flight of the Concords, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Cops, The original Gumby, Keeping Up Appearances, Sanford and Son, South Park, The Muppet Show, Mr. Show, King of the Hill, Twin Peaks, The Chappelle Show, Kids in the Hall, Sopranos, plus I own the entire original Twilight Zone collection. Space Ghost Coast to Coast...yeah! Also, I think that The Red Green Show is really funny.

Books:

Anything by Flannery O'Connor, Poe, or Robert Frost. Wisconsin Death Trip, And the Ass Saw the Angel, Wuthering Heights. Watership Down. Mr. Messy. The Spoon River Anthology. Mostly though, I read random nonfiction about subjects that catch my interest. So I tend to know a little about a lot.

Heroes:

Grandpa, Grandma, and Bear Grylls.

My old arch nemesis

I try to be a nice person. I try to get along with everyone. I may be cynical, but I feel there is no need to go out and hurt someone just because I can. As a child most of my peers shunned me and ...
