I used to be very passionate about international affairs, but since have become very cynical about it. I still love reading the news, though; just, I no longer get touched by them, but merely keep being amused (I fear it is a sign of emotional deadening, if reports of genocide only cause a tiered smile); I would love to learn more languages, but am too lazy to actually do it. Theater - everything about it: play-writes, acting, technical theater, directing, criticisms of plays, and of course just watching them! Outdoor sports, driving, traveling, watching other people interact (and forgetting to interact with other people myself over it), Scottish Single Malt, European wines, reading and writing, chocolate (but only 60%+), and most of all, beautiful women - their mere presence can fascinate me for ever!
Other human beings? - what else could you meet online...
That depends entirely on the circumstances! I like techno for dancing, but Beethoven over a good glass of wine. Pink Floyd have acquired the status of gods in my mind... Blue Man Group have the best stage show I have ever seen... Stereo Total seem to have minds that work in similar obscure ways to mine... The type of music they play on German beer festivals makes me want to kill someone... Lately, I listened to too much James Blunt and Sting...
This would lead too far... but I can try: "Das Experiment", "Last King of Scotland", "Hotel Rwanda", "Eternal sunshine on the Spotless Mind", "No-mans land", "Das Boot", "Eins Zwei Drei", "Third man", "Princess Mononoke", "Withnail and I", "Good bye Lenin", "Was tun wenns brennt", "Wallace and Gromit", "Chicken Run", "Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain", "Die Bruecke"... ... to be continued
is a means for distracting the mind: it doesn't matter what's on.
The complete content of the Bodleian Library here in Oxford! But there were a couple of books I like, that aren't available there...
are in most cases rather stupid people that get killed apparently fighting for some kind of ideal - that they didn't really understand in the first place! For some odd reason, I admire Churchill.
