Catbox Records was founded on a turd & dream in Brooklyn, New York. Angus McScottish and Jack "Pookie the Drummy Bear" Knee took residence with a guy named Big Tom. Mr. Knee wanted to make music, Mr. McScottish wanted to make a poop in privacy, so Big Tom gave them a tiny extra room. Gratefully, along side the litter box, Knee set up shop with his mikes, speakers, keyboard, and computer.Jack Knee was also a member of a band, who at Catbox's humble beginnings was just starting out as well. The ShanananananananaKneezKneez were a cover band. But not your orinary frat bar "Sweet Caroline" sing along cover band. In the 80's, you heard these songs playing in your mom's station wagon. You cried and pleaded for her make the lameness stop. Maybe you Remember Lionel Richie's "All Night Long" but do you know ShanananananananaKneezKneez cover of "All Night Long?" They tore it up, infused the chorus with innuendo, hard core gutiars and spread the words "Mutha Fucka" randomly throughout. When you hear it, you'll be crying for a different reason now...its just that good.Through the Shananananananana Kneez Kneez connection, Jack Knee got his first Catbox client. A guy named Dylinquent came to Jack and said "I want to record the Dawson's Creek Song" Jack didn't ask questions. He said yes, because with catbox all you need is a turd or a dream.Today the band has played gigs in Brooklyn and the Lower East Side and busted out with thier own original matieral. Cat box clients and the Shananananananana Kneez Kneez are still recording and hope to be in the public ear drum soon.
