Your Sultry Chanteuse

About Me

My roots are in rock and blues. I am a former member of The Crying Jags, Legal Tender, Billy Cade and the Bluesmen-all of which as a background singer. I worked hard and practiced alot and then got to front my own rock band Stag Party. All the while, I was going to open mics making musical acquaintances and developing musical friendships with artists I truly respect. People like Magic Slim, Ainsley Dunbar, Skip Martin, Kevin Curry, Rick Tucker and David "Davy-O" Thompson (who is still my best friend!)...there are way too many more to mention so if you feel you got left out, I sincerely aplogize. =)My love of standards started out when I was 22. David London, my then vocal coach told me yo go out and buy and Etta James CD. I bought "Rocks the House". I couldn't stop listening to that voice. The passion..the strength..I wanted to convey that as well as she does. More years went by and I collected Ella, Nina, Frank...all the greats, while still singing rock and blues. I got the opputunity to record 12 jazz songs when Ned Mills and Mark Matson and I collaborated in the fall of 2006. I have never worked with such talented, patient, wonderful guys. I've had alot of time onstage, but barely any in the studio. I was very nervous. I learned alot, and also got the chance to record with two wonderful guys: Eric Tewalt and George Bryant. In the future, I hope to have show for you that's filled to the brim with all the great music that I love so much. Until then, please enjoy my little myspace.
