Hello and welcome to my page, I was born in Kings College’s hospital, Camberwell on the 04/06/89, ever since I turned 6 I develop my passion for music. My mother was a singer who use to sing with my aunty Nya (Azania) my father is a professional keyboard player who plays around the world with other singers and musician, he also use to play 9 base for Ebony Steelband. At the age of 8 I got my first keyboard and started teaching myself how to play it by ear, also at that age I started learning the steel pans at Cobourg primary school. I applied in a special music course at Pimlico secondary school, where I got a piano teacher to help me read music, I also continued learning the steel pans with the same teacher Desrine Nelson. In year 10 I did work experiences with Desrine Nelson teaching in different schools, it was then that I decided that I wanted to teach pan for a living because I enjoy it. At 16 I wanted to do music GCSE because I never chose it in year 10, I was able to do it but they gave me only 2 days to do the coursework, I did my music GCSE coursework in 14 hours and got an A, after school I went to Lewisham College to advance my music knowledge. In that year 2005 I joined my first big steelband with Southside Harmonics and played my first panorama and carnival, being with Southside Harmonics made me realise how much I need to learn to be a better pannist. So here I am, still learning how to be a steel pan tutor, because you can always learn something new………… SOUTHSIDE HARMONICS!!!!!i've finish college last year and is currently working as a part time, steel pan/piano tutor, i am also a youth worker.
