Maze attempts to recreate a balance between ambience and brutality by including influences as diverse as Sigur Ros and Pink Floyd. This combination of music attempts to create something fresh and exciting in the world of Progressive Rock and diversifies itself from a clichéd genre. By combining technicality, brutality and ambience, they have created their own style and found their own voice.
2008 is proving to be a success for Maze, with the release of their 6 track EP in March, their win of this year’s Northern Composure competition & release of their latest single ‘Parting Words’ this band is off to a firing start…
Maze have played at various venues around Sydney including; The Hopetoun Hotel, The Empire, The Annandale, Manly Fishos, The Gaelic Theatre, The Den Underground & Utopia Records.
They have shared the stage with many headlining bands such as 50 Lions, Jack Napier, Shinto Katana, Worlds Apart, Hand of Mercy, Flatline Drama, Sienna Skies, Irksome Bliss, Bridgemary Kiss, Shinobi, Verona, As Venice Sinks, The Devil Lives in Rome, Anno Domini & Gravital.
