At the ripe old age of 3 years old, Jeff Barringer was destined to be a DJ; he was already organizing and playing the family vinyl. At his 4th birthday party he received his most prized possession - his first record player. From that day on it was all about the turntable.
Originally from San Diego, California, Jeff has been DJing for 20+ years. As Jeff grew, so did his passion and thirst for music. Everything revolved around it; this still holds true today. Aside from DJing, Jeff also started collecting rare and out of print vinyl that others only sought after to play in clubs. This collection (which now includes rare and out of print CDs) has only grown and can rival most collectors. Unable as a teenager to turn down multiple demands for DJ gigs at school events and friend’s parties, he found time for one of his other passions - singing. Jeff and his friends formed a band that not only did covers, but also wrote and performed original songs as well.
Fast forward (to read the "in-between years", check out Jeff's Website ) to 2002. Jeff and FINGAzZ , a well-known figure in the Hip Hop community for his Production work and songwriting for artists including Ciara, Snoop Dog, Tupac, Xzibit, Nate Dogg and Lil' Rob (and right now you may be familiar with a littlle tune that he wrote and produced called "LEAN LIKE A CHOLO"...), joined forces and established their own Remixing Team, a team recognized by their peers for its stellar meshing of talents and skills. Jeff has a vast knowledge of all musical genres and realms, and it shows in his work; there's nothing he can't spin. Reference Jeff's work in 2002 for the proof: The Remix of T.H.E.M.'s first single, "Here We Go", or his Remix of Latin sensation Soluna's cover of Air Supply's "All Out Of Love". Cher is intimately familiar with what Jeff can do with sound, as the Remix of her single "Love One Another" was yet another of Jeff's masterpieces that went to No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Charts.
Along the way, Jeff's other Remixes, such as Cause & Effect's single "Into The Light", Alyson's dance single "Feel You", which hit the Top Ten on the Billboard Dance Charts, and other projects including Depeche Mode’s “I Feel Lovedâ€, Dance Diva Taborah’s “I Amâ€, Amber's "Just Like That", the huge success he’s gained with Clear Static’s “Make Up Sex†and St. Etienne’s “Stars Above Us†have won him acclaim in the industry.
All the while Jeff has continued his Club work, he’s held residencies in San Diego's hottest nightspots. Jeff has also DJ'd some of the biggest block parties in The Gaslamp Quarter - with over 8,000 people in attendance. He's since moved on to the Los Angeles area and holds the Residency at V2o the Venue - Entertainment Complex. He is also the A/V Manager of this multi-million dollar club. V2o is one of the staple shooting locations for NBC's "Las Vegas" and other multiple TV shows. If you look real close, you'll see Jeff in different shots in different episodes. Yeah... he gets around! Jeff also DJs around the Hollywood area at clubs such as IVAR and The Key Club. Even with his crazy schedule of multiple Mixshows, Remixing and DJ work Jeff is a voting member of NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) and a reporter for Billboard and S.I.N. Magazines. You might also have seen Jeff featured on Spike TV's "The Club".
