About Me

Cheese And Beer's kind words:
If you love heavy music, but are tired of all the similar if not the same guitar riffs, drum beats and completely meaningless lyrics. Then Vendetta Blakk is for YOU!!!!!!!!!! Vendetta Blakk with their unique sound is continually furthering the heavy music genre and music in general. With hypnotic melodies, Allegretto guitar riffs, imposing percussion, and powerful lyrics (with even more powerful meanings behind them) Vendetta Blakk will capture the imitation and ignite the spirit. They cut their own path threw the music world following no other artist before them. Their influences can be heard, but their influences do not own their sound. They use them rather as inspirations of their own musical prowess and creativity. Too few bands these days do as Vendetta Blakk does and create their own original sound, rather they simply follow in the footsteps of artist before them. And so the music of late has become generic for mass consumerism and that is something to be mourned, but light glimmers on the horizon with Vendetta Blakk they bring new life to heavy music. Their talent is rivaled by none, and history will remember them as one of the legends of music. And why I say this is they simply love to play music, and go to shows and see their fans, moshing, and singing along. And artists that love to play, have great commitment, and work on a song till it’s perfect. And perfection is in essence what Vendetta Blakk is and I sincerely mean that. Vendetta Blakk will go far in the music world but once they get to the top they won’t forget those who got them there. The fans that paid to come and see them at their firsts shows, and the ones that cranked their first EP in the car and sat at a red light and banged their head while the old lady next to them looked at them like they were crazy. Their music gets you wild, and before you know it you’re in a massive mosh pit dimly aware of everything but the music, and the pressures of life drift away as you vent your frustrations in the mosh. You live in the moment with every strike of the snare that Sean Star creates your heart jumps, with Every string Zach Mayo, Nolan Zettel and Cody Gurski play your fingers tingle, and with every word Tom Nero sings/screams your mind sparks. Vendetta Blakk isn’t a band it’s an experience, one every music lover should enjoy.
-Thank You Cheese and Beer!
Where did Vendetta Blakk first start? Former members Nick Lee and Corey Rome discussed of putting a band together back in February of 2007. Then shortly after they asked Zach to join the band. As only a threesome, they knew they would not get far yet so they went on looking. Zach knew Nolan since 5th grade, Nolan was looking for a band to play guitar in at the time and Zach knew that. So then Nolan joined Far From Sanity(Vendetta Blakk). Until August of 2007 they had no drummer. This is were Sean Star came in the picture, we got a message on Myspace about being in the band and he would like to try out. He was perfect. A couple months later after, Hale-A-Palooza 2007, the band kicked out Nick, then shortly Corey. In their place they got Tom Nero and Cody Gurski. They have brought so much more to the band then what was being showed.
Vendetta Blakk: This is a band of potential and no regret. The only thing we ever regret is letting people get to us when they say we suck, we got over that! This is a five piece band. It consists of Sean Star, Cody Gurski, Zach Mayo, Tom Nero, and Nolan Zettel. We put our hearts into this music so you better enjoy it. There is nothing we love to do more than play shows, bottom line, we love it. You guys (the fans) make the live experience the best thing in the world. Seeing you guys mosh and sing along to the songs, it puts a warm spot on the hearts of the band. YOU GUYS ROCK!! We respect all fans and all bands we play with. If you would like to see us play with a band tell us we will do it!
Bio's
Sean J. Star: I have not a lot to say but music is my passion. I love these guys like bro's and we make awesome music when we are together. Live shows and and hanging out with these guys is an awesome time. I took lessons for about 4 years. I was the one musician who sat in the basement playing to songs i knew for years. Metallica was my favorite at the time to play to. Now it is Lamb Of God. But lately there hasn't been much time for that cause we are always writing new material. Everything we have been writing has sounded amazing and that is awesome. As we write the music gets more complex and challenging to play. All in all i love playing in this band!
Cody J. Gurski: I'm not really sure where to start other than the beginning of my love for music. I really started to dig music at a young age and when I was in about eighth grade I started playing drumset and had a great time learning all the covers within my ability. I also started playing guitar quite a bit on the side. In the month of February 2008 VB announced that they needed a bassist. When I heard that these guys wanted a new bassist I was currently playing drums in a project with Steve Bauer and I decided that it was something I really didn't want to pass up. So from there I was using Sean's bass and began teaching myself the fundamentals until I bought my own. Very shortly after I began taking lessons with a musical genius (Matt Miller) at Cascio which has been a great addition to my playing ability. I'm very glad I joined these guys and am having a kickass time playing live shows and recording with Joel Wanasek(god). I've known most of these guys for years so there's never a dull moment with my second family.
Zach E. Mayo: Now at the age of 17, I first picked up a guitar 3 years ago, on March 9, 2005 to be exact, I have come a long way. I am only getting better each day. The guitar has brought me to were I am today. My love for music is very wide. I appreciate a lot of different types of music, I am not a type of guy to hate on music. It all has a part inside me. As the co-founder of Vendetta Blakk, I have been in this band since March of 2007. I am loving the music we are writing and I am having such a fun time doing it! Vendetta Blakk has many sides in music, we choose not to pick one genre in the music. What ever comes to me, I write it out. I have my guitar heros like everyone else out there, not only for their fast and insane playing ability but also for their creativity and being one with the guitar. Steve Vai, my idol, an amazing guitarist. My other two top favorites are Slash and Eddie Van Halen. Just two guitarist who gave so much to the guitar world. I intend on being with this band Vendetta Blakk till the day we can not play anymore, these guys are my bros and we are learning so much together on the path of music.
Tom J. Nero: Well I started writing lyrics at a very young age around like 2nd grade but started taking it much more serious in 6th believe it or not.I started doing vocals around 7th grade and have been in love with it ever since. My passion for music is so huge for instance I listen to stuff like Backstreet Boys and Blink-182 then I go to Bon Jovi and Ratt and what not then I go to It Dies Today and Destroy The Runner even Slayer.Pretty much anything that sounds good to the ear.My heroes in the vocal world are Matt Sanders of A7X,James Hart of 18V,and of course Nicholas Joseph Brooks former vocalist of It Dies Today.Without them I would be nowhere in the music world and I hope they know that.Due to these vocalists I have such a variety in vocals and will continue to advance in my vocal chords and Im so lucky to have a band as awesome as this one where I can actually use this variety.I love my lyrics to be very personal, heartfelt, brutal, and epic all at once.I may have my own meaning to my songs but feel free to relate to them your own way.Music is my way of freedom and thats what Im giving you.Im the happiest person in the world to be in this band and I thank all of you for supporting us.
Nolan E. Zettel: Music has always been a huge part of my life. I've gone through many different genres of music in my days so far and I'm greatful for everything I've listened to in the past. My main inspirations derive mostly from my uncle Tom who has been playing guitar most of his life, from my brother who has been playin drums for a long part of his life and even played for my uncle and his friend when we would visit as kids. The other inspirations I have come from the most insane and creative guitar players such as Randy Rhodes, Satriani, Petrucci, Malmsteen, and many more. I started off playing random instruments such as synthesizers my brother and sister had laying arround in a pile of toys they had. Then in about 5th grade I started playing the drums. Arround this time I had already become best buds with Cody our bassist and never knew we would be part of a band in the future togeather, which I think is pretty cool. In about 7th grade I got into some heavier music like Disturbed and Slipknot which really made me want to start a rock band. I got a little tired of the drums so i picked up bass for about 2 years and after that I kinda just stoped playing instruments for a bit. I had realized a couple summers ago that music was a really fun thing to do when you're bored so I eventually got myself a guitar and have been inspired to play ever since.
