About Me

Pear shaped.

My Interests

Dorky fantasy books with swords and wizards. Puzzles. Pete. Beer. Whiskey (but not as much anymore). Girly shots. Meat. Pool. And the new Dodge Challenger concept.

I'd like to meet:

Bands = no. Seriously.

Music:

I HATE Christmas music. I want to stab myself in the ear every December, all month long.I pretty much like everything else, as long as it's not rap or shitty pussified emo bullshit.Current: Queen, Steve Earle, stellastarr, Lucero.

Movies:

I own the following DVDs: The first three episodes of "The Rifleman," "The Magnificent Seven," "The Great Escape," "Lord of the Rings" (extended wide-screen box set edition, of course) and "Super Troopers". And a couple pornos. That about covers it. Oh, and: Princess Bride, Out of Sight, Swingers, Fight Club, Snatch and Lock Stock, City of Lost Children, Kill Bill, Star Wars (Harrison Ford, not Ewan McGregor). Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I just watched Silence of the Lambs and had nightmares all night about Hannibal Lector coming to get me. Yeah, I don't do scary well. Wes Anderson. Monty Python. I also have this somewhat embarrasing love of cheesy sports movies: Hoosiers, Miracle, For Love of the Game, Bull Durham, Major Leauge...I blame my dad. Oh yeah... absolutely anything with old young Marlon Brando (Stanley Kowalski type Brando, I mean). AND go see Murderball. Plus Boondock Saints.

Television:

Unfortunate appreciation for all the CSI shows. (I know. Leave me alone). Oh, and Heroes.

Books:

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Ayn Rand. CJ Cherryh. Charles DeLint. Bukowski! - any & all of it, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius , re-reading The Lord of the Rings for the eleventy-first time, Heart of Darkness, Chronicles of Narnia, Sound & the Fury, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, Confederacy of Dunces, Harry Potter, To Kill a Mockingbird, Hitchhiker's Guide just like everyone else, The Stories of Eva Luna (or any Isabel Allende), Oscar Wilde, Anais Nin, Kurt Vonnegut, Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, Notes From the Underground. TS Eliot. Infinite Jest. The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay.

Heroes:

Freddie Mercury

My Blog
