About Me

"Yes she certainly was all woman...strong yet still sensitive, assertive yet still caring, powerful yet still fragile...pissed yet still standing"
Adding rules:I will add you, or add you back if you are:A band I like or somebody who I've had at least one decent conversation with in REAL LIFE. It's not meant to be rude but it's just not what I use this for. So yeah, basically no randoms. And no Tories.

My Interests

Hanging out with my friends, Anti capitalism and the global justice movement, anti racism, trade unionism, socialism, the anti war movement, Indie music (mainly British but not the kind that they play at All Tomorrow's Parties and most definitely not the crap generic kind that NME overhype every week), going to gigs, Manchester United, modern art (it makes me want to rock out), travelling or more often reading Lonely Planet Guides, Six Feet Under, taking photos, books about music, going to Glastonbury, the internet (sad case that I am), Live Journal, Jack Daniels, and doing Love Music Hate Racism stuff. That should probably have come first really.

I'd like to meet:

Lev Davidovitch Brontstein. And Johnny Marr. And James Dean Bradfield in 1994. Although meeting him in 2006 was alright like.

Music:

The Clash, Joy Division, New Order, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Smiths, The Manics, Suede, The Tears, The Libertines, BabyShambles, Luxembourg, Vincent Vincent & The Villains, Black Wire, The Cribs,Special Needs, The Social, The Strokes, Art Brut, The Paddingtons, Kill City, Cherubs, The Rocks, The Rakes, McCarthy, St Etienne, Metro Riots, Crash Convention, Belle & Sebastian, Super Furry Animals, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, The June Brides, Dirty Pretty Things, The Charlatans, Prefab Sprout, Graham Coxon, Bruce Springsteen, The House of Love, Pulp, Kenickie, Interpol, Hope Of The States, Maximo Park, The Long Blondes, Lupen Crook...etcetera

Movies:

Pretty much anything made by Ken Loah, Mike Leigh or The Coen Brothers. Good Crap Films, this is an important and often overlooked genre of films and tends to include pretty much anything involving Richard Gere, Tom Cruise or Julia Roberts.

Television:

Anything with John Simm or Martin Sheen in, Six Feet Under, Lost, Sex And The City. I am not ashamed of this.

Books:

The works of Trotsky, Orwell, Larkin, Bukowski, Iain Banks, Everything (A Book About Manic Street Preachers), Bound Together, The Communist Manifesto.

Heroes:

Rosa Parks, Rosa Luxemburg, Joe Strummer.
