Mira Stroika

Mira Stroika is a punk cabaret performer whose music incorporates Broadway, bravado, Eastern European roots and a sprinkle of glitter. A classically trained pianist, accordionist, composer and chanteuse, Stroika has built a strong following thanks to her versatile vocals, poignant songwriting, theatrical bombast, a hint of burlesque and melodramatic flair. Having been compared to artists such as Edith Piaf, the Dresden Dolls, Meredith Monk and PJ Harvey, Stroika has booked gigs at numerous venues across the country and in NYC at New York Fashion Week, Don Pedro, Drom, The Living Room, Karma Lounge, The Zipper Factory, Goodbye Blue Monday, The Highline Ballroom, and The Bowery Poetry Club.

Stroika is also a sound designer and a video artist whose most recent work will be featured at the 2008 LOOP international video festival in Barcelona, Spain.
