I'm a 21 year old senior at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois where I study History, Music, and German. I am a freelance Timpanist, Drummer, and percussionist.
Musical Experience and current Gigs:
Currently I am principal percussionst at WIU and my duties and responsibilities are principal percussion in the WIU Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Timpanist of the WIU Symphony Orchestra. I also perform on drums with various ensembles in the WIU jazz department.
I have performed semi-professionally on percussion and timpani with the Knox-Galesburg Symphony and the Wheaton Municipal Band. I am the timpanist of the Wheaton Symphony Orchestra and attended the Cloyd Duff timpani masterclass in June '06.
On Drumset I was the drummer for an artist named Cheeks McGee and played on his upcoming release, "A New Beginning." As a drummer it's my personal philosophy to make the artist I'm supporting sound brilliant and play in the manner of an accompanist. I'm not one for flashy drum solos- I feel the drumset is an accompanying instrument that needs to be played with a great amount of taste to be played well. I currently work for two churches in Macomb playing drumset in praise bands and accompanying choirs.
I have performed with a variety of ensembles in a variety of venues, from Cornhusker stadium in front of 80,000 people to Orchestra Hall in Chicago with the WIU Symphonic Wind Ensemble. I try to be a versatile percussionist and am comfortable in a wide variety of musical situations. I also have a good amount of experience as a show drummer and always love to play drums/percussion for a good musical. For references, recordings, or availability, please
