Emerging to the radio scene as an Intern with Cumulus Broadcasting, KRWP POWER 97.5 in Houston, Texas before landing a Promotions position at Cumulus Broadcasting, KRBE 104.1 in Houston, Texas, Memphis 10 has paid his dues and is now potentially one of the greatest Radio Personalities to grace the Houston air waves. His current placement on Univision's KPTY PARTY 93.3 as Assistant Production Director, Assistant to the Music Director and Radio Personality is authentication he is efficient with maintaining multiple positions in radio.
Best known as Memphis 10 – in representation of his home State, Memphis, Tennessee – can be compared to a chameleon; relinquish a task to him and you will be impressed with the judicious and detailed time placed within the project. An all around "peoples person", he doesn't hold the position of "Number 1 Weekend Show" for nothing. His attentiveness and familiarity with the everyday person, allows him to produce a quality show with entertainment and satisfaction for his audience. "The 10 Spot" hosted by Memphis 10, heard each and every Saturday from 6 pm – 12 am, and is the longest segment radio show in the City of Houston.
While interning at POWER 97.5, Memphis 10's steadfastness allowed him to triumph and become co-host of the Sunday Morning Power Praise Party, while maintaining the position as assistant to the Promotions Director. The craft of with holding multiple duties was carried over to KRBE 104.1, as he held the positions of Promotions Assistant and Board Operator. Combine all of those positions and add Assistant Production Director, Assistant to the Music Director, Imaging Assistant, KPTY's Swing Jock and Weekend Radio Personality, you gather the many roles Memphis 10 has a KPTY employee. Unite them as one and you have a gifted individual who has done every position in radio, except sales and traffic; radio is his soul.
The ambitious, goal oriented individual that Memphis is, allows him to drive to be number one. As a kid, Memphis was into all kinds of sports. Through excelling in football and track & field, Memphis was able to attend the University of Houston. After a brief career in football, Memphis began to concentrate on education, graduating from the University Of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary studies as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Communications in the Spring of 2003. Believing in achievement, Memphis is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity INC. Also an actor in various feature films, Memphis thrives on competition. Since being in radio, Memphis has learned a lot about the business which he adores. Never quitting and always moving forward, he obtained his radio personality position within three months while doing Street Team work for KPTY. Someday Memphis hopes to have a very successful morning show in a top 10 market. Memphis 10's passion is radio – it's always been his life, his goal, his outlet.
