Helsefyr is a Swedish Black Metal band, formed in 1998-99.
Our ambition is and has always been to keep it primitive and raw, there are no keyboards, no experimental things, no beautiful catchy melodies, no flutes etc… it’s just pure old-school Black Metal…without any surprises…
We released our first demo tape “The land of no return†in the summer of 2004. It consists of five songs, of which the first three; â€The pestilenceâ€, “Beneath the cold moon†and “The land of no return†are our own followed by two covers: Sodom’s “Outbreak of evil†and Mayhem’s “Deathcrushâ€
Just a few months later we released a second demo called “Deadly black I am†consisting of three songs “A frozen soulâ€, “Deadly black I am†and a cover of Bathory’s “The return…â€
All our demo songs + some bonus material are now available on a CD called Witches’ Sabbath.
It is quite primitive stuff indeed, but we are satisfied with the result of those recordings... our closest friends laughed at us, but I guess they don’t really understand what old-school Black Metal is all about, it isn’t meant to be any melodic Eurovision Song Contest material… It isn’t supposed to end-up at the MTV’s top 10 list…
Our music isn’t very unique; it’s just made by the same old recipe as Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Bathory and Darkthrone once used…
We moved to the UK a few months ago and today the band consists of:

Mathias 28: Guitars, Bass & Vocals.
