About Me

I could talk to you without interruption for a week and at the end all you'd know is that I can tell a funny story. I'm not good at "me." I'd rather hear about you. Leave me a random comment that tells me something about you and entertain me for God's sake.

My Interests

Piano. That's my goal for this year. To teach myself how to play the piano. Just bought an awesome Yamaha keyboard...okay, so it's 10 years old, and I paid $50 for it, but ya gotta start somewhere...MIDI capable, 61 full size velocity sensitive keys. Hell yeah.

I'd like to meet:

1. A girl who has more than a Reader's Digest understanding of the truth and how to apply it to her life.2. The same girl between 105 and 120 lbs with a six pack (no, not Corona).3. The same exact girl - sans bi-polar disorder.Unrealistic? Shallow? Sure. But which statement crosses those lines first? Hmmm...

Music:

My own. I now have everything I need to record my own songs...I guess I should write some now. It's sorta like getting that $1200 gym membership...you REALLY think if you spend enough you're gonna use it...I hope this is different...

Movies:

Since I quit drinking and smoking and subsequently hanging out in bars, I've watched a LOT of movies. I have to say, most of them were really bad. "Next" was cool..."The Condemned" was actually well done...and "Stardust" was pretty good. Anything with Milla Jovovich is Oscar quality for me though, so...

Television:

"Heroes." If the writers ever decide to write again, I really hope it comes back.

Books:

I have a vast proliferation of printed pages...many of them antique, but I still say my favorite is the MacMillan Visual Desk Reference. I'm an information junkie.

Heroes:

My father.

Realizations...

... It was a day of realizations...I had lunch with my friend Chris, who is also my tax consultant/accountant.  We didn't talk about my taxes as much as we did about the current state of affairs ...

Trust + Respect + Loyalty + Honor = Devotion.

Yes, finally a formula so we can apply solid, real-world principles to our relationships.  Oddly, this formula works quite well for friendships as well.  You can also use this...

Who The Hell Do You Think You Are?

I am me.  Not you. Seems simple enough, yes?  Apparently not.  Individuality is a character trait that is both applauded and cursed at the same time.  It appears to me that the exc...

When you have insomnia...youre never really asleep...

...and you're never really awake...yes, it is a line from Fight Club...I'm sure many of you will recognize it...unfortunately, I'm living it, since it is 7:24 a.m. and I am still awake. Isn't it funny...

The Red Pill...or The Blue Pill...

Blue.  I went with blue. And as I sit here in my red robe and my grey wife beater...eating a purple ice pop...and almost freezing...well, I would be if it weren't for the red robe. I went to a ba...

Check out this video: Cover of Melissa Etheridge's "You Can Sleep While I Drive." Sometimes you just have to stop talking and DO. So the quality is far from perfect, well, it's a 16 megabyt...

The Difference Between Men and Women...

Women take pictures of each other in every possible fashion at every event, meaningful or otherwise.  There are the pre-going out pictures (indeed, the pre-pre getting ready to go out pictur...

In Love...

I think that we all know what it feels like to love someone.  This takes into consideration the fact that everyone has a different idea of what love really is.  But I really doubt...that we ...

"The Glass Castle..."

...is a book by Jeannette Walls.  I just wanted to quote it, because it struck me...like the way you see a wave coming...and you're never really sure how hard it's going to move you, even th...
