Passion is Essential

About Me

I started violin and my love of music at 9 years old, and switched to clarinet soon after cause I was really into my dads Woody Herman, Artie Shaw and Benny Goodman records. From there it became an obsession with saxophone after I heard Dexter Gordon for the first time.Rock, Jazz, Blues, Classical, Gospel, R&B, it doesn't matter, there are lessons to be learned everywhere. As far as performing, I currently free lance with various bands and pickup groups, and have been trying to frequent the coffee houses and small music venues of late in order to meet some other musicians like me. I've heard some great musicians recently, passionate about our craft, yet we don't have to play for our existence. Very sweet indeed. Oh, I play tenor sax and clarinet most, but also baritone, soprano and alto saxophone when I can.If I could find a good local pianist who wants to play some Great American Songbook Standards, I'd be very happy.Make sure you get out and support live music at least once every month. It would do so much good for all of the musicians, and especially for your inner peace.
