Hala Kuromi is a name that you won’t soon forget. It’s also a name that stands for the sexiest pop, the hottest rock, and the most exotic beats ever to grace the air waves. And it’s with this formula she has become known as one of the most innovative and experimental musicians of her time.
From an early age she learned to be fearless in independence as she watched the best selling girl group the Spice Girls perform. Following her new idols she began to write her own lyrics and songs. Soon after she began vocal and piano lessons.
At age 13 after hearing Stella Soleil’s “Kiss Kiss†she found herself interested in Middle Eastern beats as well. Soon she found herself influenced by musicians all around the world including Ishtar, Sarah Connor, and Utada Hikaru. It was through this new found love that she soon became skilled at singing in other languages, and belly dancing.
Once she turned 18 Hala’s love of rock increased. She jumped head first into the local Orlando music scene becoming a great fan of local bands such as Ben Bledsoe, Lukewarm Freeda, Fall Term, Crisis in Hollywood, and Alexandrah (of Soliloquists of Sound). After perfecting her sound Hala decided to aim big, packed up her car with all the belongings she could fit, and headed for Hollywood in late 2007.
Once in Hollywood Hala set to work in no time. She began work on her EP titled “75 Love Songs†set for release on March 18th, 2008. It includes 4 Hala penned tracks, as well as a cover of Ben Bledsoe's "3 Miles".
In addition to her music Hala began filming a documentary on her career in March. ‘Saturday Night Divas’ will chronicle her recording, her first performance, the release of her album, as well as a major charity concert. In addition to her music Hala has also written two music books, “The Girls Guide to Rock Stars: Everything from being one to dating one!†and “The Musician Revolution: The Suits are dead!â€.
