Rustic songs with modern sound is one way to describe the music of Max Gomez. "His mix of old and new is second to the greats of his genre, Clapton, John Mayer, Tom Petty..."-Michael Hearne of SXSW. Max grew up in the southwest near Santa Fe, NM where he got his start playing blues guitar taught by his older brother. It wasn't until max was in High School that he began to sing to accompany his playing. Thats when he was urged to the stage by venue owners and fans alike. "The shows with the biggest audiences were country shows so I had to please the crowds."-says Max This has caused country music to be a big influence. Artists like Johhny Cash & Hank Williams have been as big of an influence on Max as Eric Clapton & Muddy Waters. His raspy yet cautious voice has a hint of everyone of them in it. Max made his way to Hollywood after High School to attend the musicians Institute. After a short stint in the big city he has managed to perform on some of the most well known stages in Los Angeles, record an albums worth of songs, and write with professional songwriters.
