Josh Hartnett

I was born on July 21, 1978 in San Francisco, California. My full birth name is Joshua Daniel Hartnett. I was raised mostly by my father, Daniel Hartnett, and my stepmother, Molly. My mother moved back to San Francisco after divorcing my father. I grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota and attended Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Grade School, where I played Huckleberry Finn in an eighth grade production. I later attended Cretin-Derham Hall High School before switching to South High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from which I graduated in June 1996. I played football in high school, but stopped because I injured my left knee. I attended SUNY in Purchase, New York. My first job was working at a Mr. Movies in Minneapolis. I got my start at acting at Youth Performance Company in Minneapolis.
