Herein Lies my Empty Air

About Me

I'm a goth girl from a little place called Rigby, Idaho. I've lived in Salt Lake City, Denver, and now Cincinnati. I'm gainfully self-employed as a graphic designer, and I own a company with my partner called Hotiron Creative.
In spite of being a cynical atheist, I thrive on new experiences and challenges, and I strive to make peace with the world through greater consciousness and communication.
Self-actualization is a life-long quest. For me, it's involved a collection of philosophies that inspire, guide, and even denounce. Below are some thoughts I've carried over the years, in both work and life, and I'd like to share them with you.
Like anyone else, I suffer from the human condition. I'll say one thing and do something else. For that reason, I opt not to be opinionated. We evolve at will, which makes us fascinating creatures. Walt Whitman once said, "Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself."
There is no right or wrong answer.
Relgion provides solace for the turmoil it creates.
Anything worth doing is worth overdoing. How else will you know you've done enough until you've done too much?
If it were that easy, everyone would be doing it.
Be patient with those who offer you advice, but cautious of whose you take.
Everyone is someone else's weirdo.
People who dance are seen as insane by those who don't hear the music.
You've already survived the tomorrow you once dreaded.
If someone drains your energy, they are poison.
Get out of your comfort zone. You'll only regret the things you didn't do in life.
Do what you want, rather than what you should, and you'll be pleasantly surprised at the results.
Ask, and you shall receive.
The future belongs to the brave.
Why I'm here, in EmptyAir land:
I respect the many bands and brands who invest in TheirSpace as a means of PR, and I support a handful of them here.
Also, I'm human. I need to be understood.
Why this graphic designer has a bland page:
First of all, I'm a graphic designer, not a web programmer. I can write HTML that would make a coder in 1996 want to cry, so CSS is a little out of reach for me. Furthermore, I'm not a big advocate of templates and stolen images. The moment you see unicorn wallpaper on my EmptyAir, you'll know I've really lost my focus.
