About Me

..
Get your own shoutbox at kawaiispace.com!Wow.. where to start? My ethnicity is not available to check on the profile info page. I'm what we call in the south a "Heinz 57" or "mutt".. lol. I was born in Louisiana and still have a large family there. My father was half Puerto Rican and half (who knows). My mother, although very white, blond and blue-eyed, has a close Native American Indian ancestry but visually very European. My uncle, cousin and mom have natural 'red' hair (even though my mom tells me the box says natural blond.. sshhh) which many people say that is an atribute of Irish. Knowing the nations history and the racially accepting way my father raised me, quite possibly I have African American ties some where. So, until they make a check box for Puerto Rican, Cajun (creole), Native American Indian, European, possibly Irish and/or African American.. I'll just continue to opt out.. hehe!I am a recent revert to Islam living in South Beach Miami, FL. Although this is definatly not the most halal place for me to live the weather here is incredible! A former ballroom dance instructor for many years with a lot of managerial and administrative experience as well. You wouldn't know it if you heard me now but I spent 7 years in chorus. Wasted some money in modeling like many naive people do. I was a freelance artist for many years too.I feel as though I have lived the lives of 20+ people and have finally found my place, so to speak. Recently (re)married and my husband makes me extremely happy. We plan to one day have a few children (hopefully before I get to much older), own our own business and move back to his home country in Morocco. My father was military but not active. I think he just liked to move which is probably where I got it from. The many places I have lived are: Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Colorado, Illinois, Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana and now.. Florida. Where I plan to live in the future: ANY PLACE BUT HERE!!!I am very grateful for the wonderful thing called INTERNET! I have met many great new friends and gotten back in touch with some old friends. So, that's my life in a nut shell.. sorta :P

ORIGINAL ISLAMIC DESIGN TEES MIX-N-MATCH ANY DESIGN, TEE & COLOR

I'd like to meet:

RON PAUL 2008!! This man is a genius!! Although I highly doubt certain power hungry, nation destroying people will allow him to step in and fix what they have worked so hard and long to screw up.Man I would have loved to have met Ahmed Deedat!! Even after he's gone his knowledge continues to live in my house every day via YouTube.Marilyn Monroe.. I believe she was probably the most under appreciated, infinitely lost and misunderstood person ever.

Music:

I'm not exactly clear on whether or not music is halal or haram. As it is said, "If you are unsure, it's better to be safe than sorry". So I usually listen to the Qur'an audio with English translation.I love all types of music from alternative rock to chaabi to Italian opera. (except Bluegrass.. no offense but that is just too 'Deliverance' for me :P)

Movies:

Also confused about the depiction of life thing but.. I absolutely love cute animated movies like: Ice Age, Finding Nemo, Madagascar, Robots, etc. They are just so cute, funny and lift my spirits.

Television:

Don't watch TV.. just YouTube & Google Vids. My Favs.. Ahmed Deedat & Zakir Naik. Many people think she's crazy but I think Rosie O'Donnell has the right idea by not allowing her kids to watch television. I don't even think the cartoon network type channels are appropriate anymore.. some pretty creepy shows on there. CatDog, Billy & Mandy, Sponge Bob.. just weird.

Books:

Anything non-fiction. The last book I read was actually the Qur'an.. well, still reading :)

Heroes:

My mom for the hardships she has endured over the past 30+ years while raising my brother and I.. lol. My brother for prevailing against all odds and continuing to be an inspiration. My husband for showing me the light when all I could see was darkness.
