About Me
I'm Elspeth Eastman, better known as Ellie.
I won't subject myself to the lengths women go to to get noticed as a musical producer.
I'm 18, I like salsa (the food and the music), and I can't juggle for shit. I do all my own stunts and calculations.
I'm always ready for collaborative efforts! I love working with other musicians, so feel free to ask.
I love listening to and making music. I like every type of music...even some death metal and rap, although country still has yet to grab me.
Let's see. When I was about 2, I sat down at the piano and plunked out a C chord. From then on, I decided I'd love to work with music.
I began my music "career" at 8, usually playing piano and using whatever I could as a drum substitute. When I was 9, I bought almost the entire eJay series.
At 12, I purchased a program called FruityLoops, and from then on I was working with the FruityLoops Studio software. The sound quality, however, was beginning to bother me. Recently I switched over to GarageBand, which is a cool program, but still very easy to use.
Now, I use Sequel, which is somewhat like GarageBand, and it still allows room for creativity.
I've always loved making music. I love harmonizing and singing as well, and I suppose my singing isn't terrible. I love to mix in vocals with electronic effects, my favorite being echoes and/or reverb.
I've begun to listen to the orchestra, jazz, and a capella music. The orchestra is beautiful, jazz is alive, and a capella is amazing. The three combined are pretty much it on a stick.
I first started listening to techno, trance, house, dance, and all those good genres when I was somewhere around 9 or 10. Listening to the big bass sound, the atmospheric sequences, and the constant beat was the highlight of my day. I figured one day I wanted to do something that really kicks like Oakenfold or Tiësto.
Then came the more electronic grooves. The Om Lounge Series was extremely influential and I wanted to incorporate a lot of its elements in my songs, and from there I decided to mix the two. I don't have a specific category that my music fits into, nor do I want it to.
I'm pretty ecstatic to be sharing my music with other producers. One day I hope to achieve a record deal.
That's all for now, I suppose.
Peace and love,
Ellie
