Reading (of course), with that said, I read all genres. If a story is good--it's good, I don't care if it is sci fi, fantasy or whatever. I also read A LOT of non-fiction--especially books that deal with how to be mindful of our thoughts. I also am starting to get into biographies. Reading about people that have accomplished extraordinary things with their lives inspries me. The only genre I just can't seem to get into is erotica.
I also love to write (naturally). I am most happy when I am using my imagination. I have a pretty vivid one if I do say so myself. Or maybe I just like being "God" over my characters. Could I have control issues?
Traveling is also an interest--My dream is to take a 3 to 4 month tour of the African continent one summer. I would like to visit every country. I'm not sure how safe that would be but I'm sure it'll work out. Australia is another continent that I want to travel too. I also want to take a summer tour and drive across America--yes, all 48 states. I am a tourist geek. I want to see the Grand Canyon (again). The first time I went I didn't get to white water raft or ride donkeys (or is it horses?) through the canyon. I also want to see Yosemite Park, The Hoover Dam, Mt. Rushmore, Old Faithful, Biltmore, Monticello, The Space Needle, Niagara Falls, Hawaii, need I go on? Don't even get me started about the international sites that I want to see. God made His world so beautiful I think its only right and fitting that I see as much of it as I possibly can.
Lastly, I love mountains. I don't have any interest in climbing one but I sure love to look at them. And if they are snow-capped that is even better.
Generally, AVID READERS WHO LOVE TELLING OTHERS ABOUT THE GOOD BOOKS THEY'VE READ (HINT, HINT) authors, creator of television shows, scriptwriters, publishers, publicists, agents, movie producers, directors, journalists, magazine editors/owners/publishers....you get the picture.
More specifically--J.K. Rowling (I don't think there is an author in the world that wouldn't like to have the success she's had). Billions aside though, Harry Potter is an extrememly imaginative and intricate story. I respect anyone that is not afraid to use their imagination.
Mara Brock Akil (creator of the Girlfriends TV Show--I love it!) Perhaps we can discuss making HOUSE OF STONE into a primetime series...I'll be waiting for your call Mara...LOL!!! But I am serious.
A Business Mentor (preferably one that is a millionaire--sounds crass but I have a goal to amass a million within three years and who better to teach me then someone who has already been there, done that).
Last but certainly not least--Jesus Christ! How cool would it have been to hang around with Him? Come to think of it, He can imagine some pretty cool stuff too.
Mostly old-school. My favorite song of all time is Mariah Carey's "Make It Happen".
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The Harry Potter movies, The Matrix Reloaded, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and A Perfect Murder(their townhouse was BAD!!! Not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning GOOD!).
The Young and the Restless, Girlfriends, Living Single, Martin, The Jeffersons, Boston Legal (although they can get kind of preachy), Wild N'Out, Frasier, Friends, The King of Queens, The Tyra Banks Show, The Steve Harvey Show, Kim Possible. (OK, I watch WAY TOO MUCH TV!)
The Rise of the House of Stone (MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BOOK IN THE WORLD!), The Harry Potter Series, The Good Earth, In Sheep's Clothing and Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. The last book I read was "Blubber" by Judy Blume. Currently reading "All my back issues of BE, Essence, Worth, Smart Money, Fortune and Forbes Magazines."
My husband (he works 2 jobs to take care of our family and still encourages me to start my own business). My mom (she was a single mom and I never heard her complain) No (legitimate)job was beneath her. She worked at White Castle, the grocery store--any place that gave her the ability to take care of her family. Come to think of it, she and my husband are both selfless like that :)
