BIOGRAPHY
Blur are an English rock band formed in Colchester in 1989. Originally named Seymour, Blur became one of the biggest bands in the UK during the Britpop movement of the mid-1990s and had a much publicised rivalry with Oasis. In the year 2000 Blur released their acclaimed Greatest Hits album titled "The Best of Blur" with eighteen of their best tracks including Girls and Boys, Parklife, Country House, The Universal, Stereotypes, Charmless Man, Beetlebum, Song 2, Tender and Coffee + TV.
The band is currently comprised of vocalist/keyboardist Damon Albarn, drummer Dave Rowntree and bassist Alex James. Graham Coxon left the band in 2002, during the recording of the band's last studio album Think Tank.
In August 2007, Blur are planning to return to the studio. Graham Coxon, has made peace with his former band-mates and will be involved in the project.
The foursome have reserved a London studio for a week in August, but will only book further sessions and record an album if they are able to work well together.
"We're all heading into the studio together this summer. Graham's coming too. We're gonna see if we've still got it. If not, I think we'll just call it a day." - Alex James
"There was a lot of acrimony around the time Graham left but now everyone is back on speaking terms. They're hopeful that the sessions will prove rewarding but are under no illusions. If things don't go to plan in the studio they're all quite happy to walk away, safe in the knowledge they gave it their best shot."
