Sanna + Art = Sannart

About Me

:-) !!! Hi everyone,I'm Sanna and this is Sannart... Sanna + Art. I've always wanted my own site where I can put my artwork and music. So here it is... And now I've finally got a "musical partner in crime" as well! I owe a HUGE THANK YOU TO THE FANTASTIC SONGWRITER/PRODUCER P.F.H who has written and produced "Sommaren". The version that I will upload soon is only his first draft. Our plan is to continue making and recording music together and with Y.M.H, hopefully we'll have a full length album soon... and perhaps I'll be able to contribute more next time than I did on "Sommaren" - I merely did the singing and came with thoughts on the theme but words and music are 100 % P.F.H. Keep stopping by to see our progress..."Victory" is a song I wrote myself for my friends Linda Wikström and David Johansson and their child Victor's baptism.I prefer singing pop, ballads, gospel, jazz, acoustic, folkmusic ("visor" - in Swedish, I don't know how to translate it into English) etc. but I'm open to other genres as well. I'm not a member in any band, I simply sing as a hobby, but if you need a singer - for demos, starting up a band, weddings... etc. Feel free to drop me a line! :-)I love music and I need more experience to evolve. I took singing lessons for 5 years for Eva Bohlin, have been a member in Sthlm East Gospel Choir directed by Michelle Nakagawa (www.sthlmeast.com) and have taken a Vocal Masterclass at Scenen (www.scenen.net) for Karina Kampe who is also my vocal coach at the moment (hopefully I'll be able to afford to keep her, she really finds my issues and helps me work with them). I am very greatful for what Eva, Michelle and Karina has done for me - they have all brought different things to my life and my voice. I also would like to thank Anna Melin for being a great friend and musical support, arranging the study group where we had so much fun and shared living out our dreams and helping eachother reach them!If you need images for invitations, websites and so on I also draw - so look at the images I've created in my slideshow (above) and if you find anything you like, contact me. Please do not use my music or images without asking me for permission. Thanks! :-)Take care and enjoy!/SannaP.s. The slideshow with images are some of my own creations trough the years, mostly old stuff I'm afraid...The myspace layout I got from this place;http://www.ultimatemyspace.com/myspace_layouts/layout_ 6556.htmlmyspace layouts for Get this layout for your myspace page.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Sanna Hähnel... Sometimes with the amazing producer/songwriter P.F.H....
Influences: Tracy Chapman, Annie Lennox (Eurythmics), Madonna, Linda Sundblad (Lambretta), Mariah Carey (although I don't sound at all like her), Jewel (only recently, I didn't know who she was until a couple of years ago), Sarah Brightman, "Phantom of the Opera", Carola (when I was a kid), Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, ABBA, Lisa Nilsson, Lisa Ekdahl, Stephen Simmonds (I know he's a man but I get inspired by his songs), The Corrs, Natalie Imbruglia, Irene Jackson (a woman I found at www.irenejackson.com - she also gives great songwriting tips)... I also love the voice of Magnus Karlsson in Weeping Willows, he has that smooth tenderness and melancholy I would like to apply to my own voice. These are just my sources of inspiration (and I have several more, I like most music) and I don't necessarily want to sound like they do but I like to listen to them to figure out how they use their voices or compose their songs...

Sounds Like: Sanna Hähnel of course... But to give you some hints til I put some music here I can tell you that I've been told my voice sounds a bit like Jewel or Olivia Newton John, which I take as a great compliment. I really love their voices but they both have an innocent almost childlike character to their voices that would not fit my personality - I'm more scarred by life I suppose and don't want to have that naive sound I have today... So I wish my voice would be less "pretty" and more edgy - I guess my dream is to have a voice that is a mixture of Sheryl Crow (more rock n' roll than how I sing today), Sarah Brightman (but less pretty), Mariah Carey (with a little less wailing), Shakira (without the "squeeze" she puts on some tones), Tracy Chapman (but as a soprano) and Tori Amos. I also like some of the techniques used in country pop - Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks, LeAnn Rimes and Jill Johnson (Swedish artist). Quite a mixture I guess... perhaps it's not really possible in real life to combine them without seeming like you have schizophrenia. And I want to sound like ME whoever that is... :-) Til I find out, I think the names I mentioned above are great sources of inspiration.
