About Me

Would you choose beauty over bullets? Generally speaking the majority of us would...........or would we? It seems in this day and age that beauty can escape us rather easily. What starts as a smile can turn to a frown in a matter of seconds. This is not necessarily through fault of our own but rather a product of the world we live in. We've become such junkies, stabbing ourselves with syringes chalk full of the media's finest. A formidable blend of propaganda, negativity, filth, gossip, envy, greed, the list goes on. So let me ask you this, where do you get your fix? I have my own vices. My own little specially mixed cocktail. Everyday I try to discourage myself from my daily routine but am hard pressed to do so. Nobody's perfect. We're only human. So are we really to blame? Probably.........................but we're addicted. This is one drug that will always find our veins. I'm under the impression that once you become addicted to something your choice in the matter eventually disappears. I'd like to say that I would choose beauty.....................but is it really my choice? Is it really in my capacity to do so? The odd time I can fight the addiction............... but for the most part, the choice is made for me..................Hence Bullets Over Beauty.
Steffyn grew up in Chlliwack BC. Throughout highschool he played in numerous bands and took part in musical theatre. After graduating he moved to Burnaby to attend SFU. There he helped form the band Painted Self in which he played guitar. After 4 years in the local music scene he decided to pursue other avenues and started the band Dead by Sunset. This was shortlived. He then began a battle with cancer that would last almost 3 years. Craving to play again he formed Bullets Over Beauty with Jay, Adam, and Glenn.
Jay spent the majority of his childhood in Markham Ontario. He moved to Vancouver BC with his family at the tender age of 12. During highschool Jay formed the band CrankRiot. After graduating he went on to audition for multiple bands which led him to form and front the band Co-Sign. After several line up changes and a switch in musical direction the band went by the moniker of One Step Trip. OST decided to disband after a short Canadian Tour. Jay continued to write and play with the drummer, Adam. After receiving a phone call from Steffyn in late 2006, they decided to fuse their musical ideas and form Bullets Over Beauty.
Glenn grew up on the East Coast of Canada. A small town Nova Scotia boy, born and raised he picked up the bass in his teenage years. His first band was A Murder of Crows. After exhausting the Halifax scene they made the decision to relocate to Vancouver. They embarked on a Canadian and a few west coast tours but in the end decided to go their seperate ways. Glenn then joined Cradle to Grave. Meanwhile he had been talking with Steffyn about an eventual jam that would lead to the finishing touches of Bullets Over Beauty.
Adam grew up in a suburb of Vancouver where he first learned to play the guitar. Soon after conquering blues and rock influenced music he switched to drums for a new challenge. He then set out a goal to pursue a career in power lifting. After setting a school record he decided to surrender to the up and down life style. During highschool he played drums in the band An Oracle, this eventually brought him to One Step Trip where he met Jay. Now he brings his unique drum stylings and strong musical experience to Bullets Over Beauty.
