MOKER JARRETT with LUCKY STIFF

About Me

Moker grew up on the beaches of the east coast of Jacksonville , Florida. It was evident fairly early that music would be a driving force in his life, playing the junior and senior high dances while still in junior high school. The first day he picked up a guitar he played a Bob Dylan song. The Allman Brothers had an album called "Eat a Peach" that he wore grooves in learning those licks. Playing praise and Gospel music in his church as a youngster as well, he became a seasoned player at an early age. Moker is a guitar player, songwriter, and singer who's been dialin' in his unique sound and keepin' it real. Punchy, catchy, music that crosses bridges of styles and forms an artist and writer who's equally at home with rock, country, blues, and folk music. Locally performing with Lucky Stiff, a group comprised of "Slim" Jim Rohl from Cincinnatti, Ohio on drums, and Bad "Billjuan" Smith on bass, in that raw form they become a power trio. East Coast piano legend Will Hurley does some keyboards work for us when his schedule allows. They have all played on the east coast extensively and are happy to be doing some Festivals this time of year. Their latest CD 'Ready to Fly" is a collection of radio ready pop/rock tunes that have been well received worldwide. Available at cdbaby and I-Tunes under the name Moker Jarrett, act now before some major publisher signs him and jacks up the price...ha...Moker enjoys writing and playing and it comes through in the music. "I'm not gonna be doing anything that stresses me out, if it's drainin' me, I don't wanna do it, I write music because it pumps me up, I enjoy both the creative time in the studio, and the times when we get out and kick it out. There's alot of old school in my music, hell I'm old school. I love the way southern rock has been swallowed into country, and that it's OK to rock out in country now. Don't get me wrong, Johnny Cash and Hank, kick ass... I just prefer to play it with a little more uptempo and butt cos that's what I do." Take a listen and thanks for stoppin' by...come back often, we'll be flippin' tunes in and out and updatin' any live shows we have...my nephew's on here somewhere, he calls it DANKA, check him out too..Peace...Moker
