About Me

I'm an LA-based Makeup Artist. I tend to focus on Beauty more so than Fashion but it was definitely clothing driven editorials that first drew me to makeup. Nowadays, I like working with clothes via the runway. Working with designers, creating a look, directing a team - it's just the best. Fashion continues and will always inspire my work but if I had a choice between a beauty shoot with Inez and Vinoodh for Another Magazine or a fashion editorial with Mario Testino for American Vogue I'd go with the beauty story, hands down.I love doing makeup because it allows me to be creative and inspire others with what I create. Music:

I like all music especially if I can dance to it. I'm really into the electro-dance influence in music right now - anything influenced by disco or mid-90's house is great. I think hip hop's going to make a great come back real soon.

Television:

I never miss South Park. I'm not even going to lie: I love Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty. I do watch American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. Food Network...like every show.

Heroes:

My Sister. Joanna Schlip, my mentor and friend. Serge Lutens, an amazing makeup artist that became a prolific art director. Zora Neal Hurston - a true Anthropologist.
