About Me

Hello, my name is Jude Deveraux and I write romance books. I was born on September 20, 1947 in Fairdale, Kentucky. I use to be a 5th grade teacher prior to becoming a writer. I attended Murray State University and received a degree in art. I am the elder of four brothers and I published my first book in 1977. In 1967 I got married and took my husband's surname of White. Four years later we got divorced. I later married Claude Montassir and adopted a son, Sam Alexander Montassir but we eventually got divorced. My son died at age 8 in a motorcycle accident. It was a horrible accident I will never forget in my life. After it happened my books became more about family instead of romance. I currently live in Charlotte, North Carolina but I also own a home in Italy.Myspace Graphics

My Interests

I love to write books plus read them.

I'd like to meet:

I'd love to meet the Montgomery's and Taggerts that I mention in my books because they are such great men.

Music:

I'm not big on music, never really seemed to listen to it because I always wrote and taught instead.

Movies:

I recently have became very interested in the Harry Potter movies because of the adventure and the way Harry, Hermione, and Ron are like family, which has become more important to me since my sons accident.

Television:

I have seen people take some of my books and make them into t.v. shows which are not bad to watch.

Books:

I write books, you all should read them too. They are really good.

Heroes:

My hero's are mentioned in my books. (Montgomerys and Taggerts)
