About Me

If you ask Mike Grubbs' mother, she'll tell you he's the best looking boy in any given room... Raised underneath the old burgundy baby grand she gave lessons on in Richmond, VA, he soon found music to be the defining factor of his life. Plagued by the inability to concentrate on anything for any reasonable length of time, he found romance and escape in the world of Brahms, Bach, and Beethoven. One day he awoke to find himself a tall, sensitive, string bean of a man, with a wonderful habit of falling in love 20 times a day. So he packed his few belongings and relocated to New York City to tell his story the only way he knew how... Mike is most often seen alone on stage, behind his guitar or piano. With inspiration drawn from Soul, Punk Rock, and his classical background, his main influence is the integrity of the artists with which he has surrounded himself. His songs are extremely intimate portraits of naked emotion, sang, whispered and screamed into the consciousness of the growing crowds that currently enjoy his live shows all along the East coast.
