I'm Amber, and this is my monster.
Labrys is Lydian for "Double Edged Battle Axe" and appropriately enough has recently represented female dominance and matriarch. It's also been recently associated as a symbol for lesbianism...now how fucking kewl is that?!?
Rather fitting, since the theme of Labrys is Greek Mythology and war.
The first song is obviously about the Battle of Thermoplyae (released just in time for the 300 to come out in theaters...just a coincidence), where Xerxes and the Persian army invade Greece and through a bitter battle at the pass of Thermopylae, Leoniadis is overwhelmed by the Persian force.
Xerxes was so pissed at the resistance, that when Leoniadis' body was recovered, he had it beheaded and put on a stave and the body crucified...pretty brutal heehee. Especially since the tradition of the Persians was to treat their fallen enemies with honor.
Xerxes and his army then marched on toward Athens. Most of the city had been evacuated when word came of Leoniadis' defeat, but nonetheless, Xerxes would leave Athens in total ruin...the Persians took no mercy and levelled the city to ashes and boulders and bodies. Fucking classic!
The rest of this album (still in the works) deals with the rest of the Third Persian Wars against Greece, who finally drive the Persians out, but at no small loss. Stay tuned!! It's bound to be GUT wrenching! WHOOT!
I put 4 demo songs on here so far for your amusement lol. Buckets Of Blood is the only song right now with vocals. I'm currently busy in Indiana working with Ghosts of the Damned, so this project is a little out of date at this point.
For the time being, I do all the recording/mixing myself on my laptop.
So lace up your kickin' boots and smash some heads. Hold on, lemme get the camera....
