Shetland Afro Drumming Group

About Me

Our African Drumming group started out as just a weekly nightclass, then when we were asked to do a little stint at Shetland Folk Festival 2006, we quickly got our group a name and discovered we loved performing! we're really just a bunch of people who love drumming. Aesttaewast is Shetland dialect (east to west) as our members live all over Shetland and we all come together to meet and practice. We've played around Shetland a couple of times and on BBC Radio Shetland, and this year we're very fortunate to have been invited back to be part of the Shetland Folk Festival. So Aesttaewast is mostly about meeting and drumming and learning, because we enjoy it! It's our passion!!!! pet friendly hotels myspace codes myspace layoutsMyspace Layouts Florists Myspace Video Codes

Our Practise Pad

Thought I'd just put a few lines down about 'our practise pad' or Tresta Chapel as it's better known. Like many other groups we struggle sometimes to find a central meeting point as some of us live up...
