About Me
I AM THE LEAD VOCALS AND RHYTYM GUITAR FOR THE BAND (THE NADEAU FAMILY BAND)I started to sing, when I was about six years old. Many a night, I would sing myself to sleep. The love of singing started at a very early age for me. My younger brother Wayne gave me his first guitar, and I started to accompany my singing with the guitar. Not long after this, Mom and Dad bought me my very own guitar.
Wayne worked with me, teaching me chords to our favorite songs. It wasn't long, and we were starting to play for our family, and at small parties. We started in 1967, and never looked back. We fast became "local celebrities", featured in local papers and being called Aroostook County's answer to The Beatles. Pictures dating back to our early start can be found on our website: www.thenadeaufamilyband.piczo.com.
As Wayne and I continued to play together, our little sister, Debbie started to sing and dance with us, which added another dimension to our little band. It wasn't long and our little brother, Glenn started to play drums, taking the band to another level. Eventually, the band which was firmly rooted in Country - Rock became one of the most "in-demand" bands in Aroostook county. The band played over 100 dates per year, up until 1993, when we all decided it was time to focus on our families, as we had all had children.
In 2004, the family was all together at our camp on Long Lake, and Wayne gave us all copies of some old recordings. It was at that time, that we all realized how much we truly missed, what had been such a large part of our lives - making music. We started rehearsing, as we wanted to perform for our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. It wasn't long and word got out, Nadeau Family Band was back, and we haven't looked back.
Fast forward to today -- the band has evolved to include more of Classic Rock sound, with me as the lead vocalist. It was important for me, as we regrouped that we take what we were known for, to next level. I am proud of the band and my contribution to the band. I have been working hard, pushing myself to sing like I have never sung before, and some of the material that we are playing, is unlike anything we have ever played before. The band gives me the confidence to work hard and try new things. The love of my family: my wonderful kids Jennifer and Justin and the love of my life, my beautiful wife Joann, inspire me to do my best.
