Greetings visitors and friends. While the hour is quiet and the light fades into the shadows, an idea takes place. How the idea manifests is often... subjective to the moment, the mood, the ambiance perhaps of forgotten sleep...
"Tela Noctu," or "A Design by Night" is what I call my creative process. The October Shoppe is what I call this imaginary home where the Cabinet of Curiosities sits in the small area of my 1912 apartment that I call simply.. The Doll Room.
I am an artist, if I dare call myself such. My passions are in doll repainting, photography, web & graphic design. For our purposes here we can focus on all, but the dim light from above shines mostly upon the little Darklings in the cabinet. This space is primarily for them, though they do and will share the muddy spotlight with other endeavors.
PreGhoulers: Are what I call my 'baby' doll creations. They are in the 'pre' stages of...shall we call it 'Ghouldome'?... and their future has paused in their humble beginnings anew.
Gothiques: Porcelain repaints, if you will, are often a bit more sophisticated than their PreGhouler cousins. Yet even in their dark elegance they harbor their own secrets of their humble beginnings elsewhere.
The October Shoppe & Tela Noctu designs: Dolls, prints (framed & unframed), photography, and various dark goodies from within The Cabinet of Curiosities are the wares of an artistic soul who revels in a world of black lace and Victorian dreams.
