About Me

Yeah I know it’s not mine, but it still fits for most of us mere mortals – some of those plans include going back to live in my spiritual home ... the almighty Netherlands. I’m from Manchester in the UK, … still live around there, but have worked in London, lived in Amsterdam, and loved in San Francisco ... plan to spend a few more years here, before I fly off and satisfy the travel bug that’s nibbling slowly – Thailand, Venezuela and Singapore are up on the list of places to get to first, but we’ll see...

My Interests

Music, vodka, shagging, TV, clubbing, shagging, films, gym activity, sha… I think you get the picture …

I'd like to meet:

George Bush, so I can ask the dangerous waste of space something like the square root of 49 or maybe I’ll pick 25 instead – don’t want anyone to accuse me of cruelty ... I’m sure such a tricky question would cause his brain cell to explode there and then, allowing the captive Tony Blair to release himself from up his arse.Tony Blair, so I can ask him how he managed to survive for so long – politically and actually – with his head wedged so far up the Bush tunnel ... funny how he seems to have disappeared since the oh so smug Gordon took over. Maybe Tony's slid all the way up Bush, never to be seen again - fuckin' tragic, huh :)Jeff Garcia, the famously not gay fiance of the world’s fittest woman ... Carmella DeCesare. I’d love to show him my knob and force him off into hiding into some desolate, remote place – Burnley or Kauai spring to mind as possibles, but I suppose anywhere will do as long as he can live a gay (as in happy, of course – don’t forget I’m English) and fulfilled life away from Carmella and I. Him fleeing would obviously be because he’d feel intimidated by the sheer sight of what he’ll always be competing with and absolutely, categorically, nothing to do with resurrecting his issues about being in the closet, cause as we all know, he is not gay :) ... apart from Carmella being bowled over by me, the gratitude she’d feel for my having saved her from a lifetime of Elton John, The Shopping Channel and designer muscle t-shirts etc ... would make her mine – or am I just dreaming? If so, do you know if Giorgia Palmas, the world’s second [ish, since I discovered the very, VERY hot Jewell and Jutima (Jewel) - something about the name maybe and who are both 'in relationships' ... pisser! :( ... ] in the most beautiful chart, , is single or not ..? and then there's Jessie, Claudia, Karen (K.D.), Kobe, all apparently hooked up too - ahhhhhhh, Carolyn or Sheena claiming singledom ... either of you busy? ;)

Music:

Best gig ever was Faithless at the Academy in Manchester a few years ago and until very recently would’ve said I was a huge fan, (although not coming close to my reverance [get it? :) ] for Joy Division who are my equivalent of The Beatles ... talent, innovation, nostalgia - I never tire of their tracks ... JD I mean, I can't stand The Beatles and their overrated shite) but – and I’m sorry guys … you’ve gone a bit ‘cardigan and slippers’ … the last album’s mostly forgettable. I’m happiest bopping to some epic house or trance, but like The Streets, OutKast, Daft Punk, Pulp, Massive Attack, Black Eyed Peas, Leftfield, Pet Shop Boys, Gorillaz, Hard Fi … try not to get swept up in waves of hype, but am unable to resist the talents of The Killers … probably my fave at the moment and Sam’s Town is a daily play … and after their performance at Glastonbury recently came close to that Faithless gig, they're going to take some beating just now ... for all the JD reasons, but The Killers doing Shadowplay is always gonna be special ...

Movies:

There’ll be loads I forget, but instant springs to mind and in no particular order include American History X – I don’t think anyone could ever surpass Edward Norton’s performance in that …, Magnolia, L'Appartement, Leaving Las Vegas, Two Days in the Valley, Bound, Scarface, Love Actually, U Turn, Abre los ojos, Sexy Beast, Serendipity, The Deerhunter, 8mm, The Indian Runner, ... loads really ... and now Control - compelling personal slice of nostalgia and quality performances.

Television:

Current (ish) … Cape Wrath, Heroes, My Name is Earl, Kidnapped, Entourage, Mobile (just finished but sueferkin all the same …), Hustle, Life on Mars, Shameless, NYPD Blue, Dead Like Me, Desperate Houswives, (yeah, I know, but I don’t care – it’s ace and wall to wall MILF to die for …), Scrubs, Hotel Babylon, Ugly Betty, The O.C. and Match of the Day … that’s a football – sorry, soccer for my American friends - highlights program. Gone but definitely not forgotten Angel, Buffy, Alias, a special mention to Six Feet Under and Cracker (the UK original, not the US abomination) - TV at its very best …, Oz, GBH, … did you notice this section’s a soap free zone? Desperate Houswives doesn’t count, does it?

Books:

The Grapes of Wrath is Steinbeck’s best, but any number of his fictional works could get a mention here … C: Because Cowards Get Cancer Too by John Diamond – should be compulsory reading for everyone …

Heroes:

The usual suspects … Nelson Mandela, Bruce Lee, George Bush (just kidding about that tosser … just seeing if you’re paying attention), just cause they’re a little cliched doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be included Pamela Anderson, (genuinely!), … some less obvious, but every bit as huge in my eyes … Miep Gies, John Diamond, Rosa Parks ... if you’re not sure, Google them – I’m sure they’ll be equally inspirational and aspirational for you too. … and here endeth the lesson
