About Me

Due to recent but fortunate events we are unable to play on April 25th at Molly Malones. I can’t say much at this time, but what I can tell you is there are some BIG changes happening, and although you wont be hearing much from us for a little while, be patient, the moment we have all worked so hard for is right around the bend. Thanks for all the support you have given us throughout the years. Veno
“It’s not over till I say it’s over” Such is the standpoint of Veno, singer-guitarist-songwriter of the L.A. Hard-Rock band Dazend. “I arrived in L.A. broke and living in a van, but this was all I ever wanted to do and I was not going to let the fact that I was living off of PB&J’s stand in my way”.
After forming in 2003, Dazend (originally Solace) quickly gained notoriety in their hometown of Massillon Ohio. The band’s first release, The Basement E.P., became one of the best selling titles of the year, and Dazend emerged as a top live draw, sharing stages with national acts such as Chevelle, Finger Eleven and Saliva just to name a few. This was no small feat in a land where original rock bands play second banana to 80’s cover music. Still, Dazend’s Hard-Rock/Modern Grunge sound couldn’t help but stand out, and Veno’s words built a bottomless bond between the band and its fans.
Everyone from disenfranchised teens to incarcerated individuals has felt his influence, but the foremost example is the impact the song "Don‘t Bother" had on a family whose husband/Father was lost in war. The song, a dark and heavy driven deliberation on life after losing his father to cancer. “We all go through rough times, that’s life, but it’s how you respond that makes you who you are. I respond through my music”.
Veno’s motivation and inspiration stems from a lack of belonging. His father passed away early on, and his mother suffers from Muscular Dystrophy. He spent the better part of his childhood being tossed between foster homes and the juvenile detention center. While living in these places he was taught to believe the only success he could hope for was to not wind up dead or in prison. “I first picked up a guitar while in a detention home. My older brother lent me his, I just never gave it back.”
