About Me

Igort and the Lo Ciceros have been playing together for two years. After a long gestation period, their first record, BALLAD OF ODD DAYS, is finally under production; its recording sessions, done between Paris, Ischia and Napoli involved, besides Igort, Rosario Castagnola: moltiinstrumentalist and producer, Sarah Tartuffo: singer and bassist, Mario Pirolla: producer and drummer.**************************************************** ***************************This Album has been conceived as a choral narrative, a sort of novel in music. In the long sessions that have been necessary to create the songs we used to play at night, until the first light off the new day coming. It has been very tiring but very quiet too. I like the night, and his atmospheres, I think it has been important to achieve some psychedelic visions, as you can listen in some liquid guitars played by Rosario Castagnola. From my side I always travel with my low-quality-japanese-notebook, and take some notes, ideas, sometimes dialogs, or even little poems that will be used to structure a song. Melodies come in a very relaxed way. Carver is a song dedicated to the great storyteller Raymond Carver, and it's written with some different "everyday life" sentences, as the great and wonderful titles that Carver used for his books. Ballad o f Odd days is a visionary story of urban desperation. I imagined it as a story in the end of forties, a story told like in a day book. In the odd days something tragic happened to this italian american middle age man. This song has a never ending structure with a lot of different sound situations. It..s very important for the album since it gives a precise idea of all direction I..m interested to develop: mystery; obsessions, spleen, nostalgia of an unknown past. But music can tell more than words. Ellis Island Angel is a visionary song about the great american depression of the end of the twenties. Another song of hope and desolation, and tells a little story of mystic visions in the italian american culture.**************************************************** ***************************ELLIS ISLAND ANGELTHE FIFTH DAYLETTERS AND ROSES
