SETTING SUN

About Me

It's more than likely you'll hear a kju: concert begin with the words "Hello, we're kju: from beautiful Hannover, Germany", but not without a wink of the eye. And once the band starts playing you'll have a hell of a time trying to keep still, as words like "intense" and "energetic" are more than just mere adjectives when describing their live show. They have made more than a slight impression with live gigs across Europe, as the numerous positive reviews, reports in national and international magazines, radio interviews and radio and TV airplay across the continent will attest. 2004 was particularly important for kju:, as they racked close to 100 shows during that year, and as headliners to boot. Their green band bus logged thousands of kilometers through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Holland and the UK. 2005 also saw kju: take the stage at the Masters Of Rock and Benatska Noc Festival in CZ. Press feedback to their album “The Pieces Fit” has been overwhelmingly postive: "If there's a great newcomer band in Germany, it's this one." (Waste Of Mind) "This band has huge fucking potential...people are going to be talking about them. Respect!" (Greenhell). Others see kju: as "one of the best bands in Germany" (Wahrschauer), while others "can't believe a German band can pull off musical ideas like this... (Uncle Sally's) and that kju: "...are great songwriters, rock hard, and come across as completely honest" (VISIONS). And from HAMMER Magazine: "The band sounds surprisingly good and unique ..." kju: released their current album “Setting Sun” in January 2007, and the success continues. The emotion and passion within the new songs have taken on an added dimension, the energy and sound as intense as ever, and then some. The title of the album, “The Pieces Fit” (2003), wasn't a case of arrogant boasting on the part of the Hannover quartet, and the new material is the proof.
