Whaddup-
so this isn't really a band site- I'm the drummer for a couple of bands, but this is just a site for me to get my own shit out there. I've been getting into recording a lot more lately, and have the itch to actually record as much "drum music" as I can. Throughout my life, I've been exposed to, and learned to play many different styles of music, so all of that stuff is in me somewhere, bouncing around in my psyche, waiting to come out. I've chosen at this point in my life to make music my number one priority, so I can have the time and motivation to do all of these things that I want to do.
I'm always practicing, always trying to get better- I hate stagnating, let alone getting worse at anything. I feel like our time here on Earth is way too precious to waste, and especially now a days, there's soooooo much shit to waste your time on. That's why I don't have TV service- I have an actual television, but it's just for watching DVD's or tapes. It's too easy to get sucked into the boob tube, and all of a sudden, you've wasted 2, 3, 4 hours of your life. (how many times do people say, "well, there's really nothing on..." then continue to watch that 'nothing' for the next several hours... that's stupid)
Music to me is an unlimited universe with so many things to explore, and so much to experience... there's no time to waste. I also believe in music as a form of higher communication. Music has been around since the beginning of man, and will be here much longer than any of us. Ancient tribes people used music to contact the spirit world. Now music can serve as a release for someone after a stressful day at work, it can uplift your spirits. When people dance (and I mean really dance, not just get out on the dance floor tryin to look cool so they can hook up with someone) when they dance, they're free- the music moves them, and they can let go of all their worries, all their inhibitions, all the regular bullshit of our daily 'social' lives (that's a whole nother topic), and feel better afterwords. How cool is that?
Music is art. But it's the only form of art that forces the artist to have to be totally in that moment- the moment of creation- of interaction- a blast of energy that you can't see- but you can hear it, and most importantly, you can feel it.
Once I've got more time, and figure out MySpace a bit more, I'll open up some discussions on a whole array of topics.
but for now- peas out-
