Pimp My ProfileREAL RAW BLUESY JAZZY SPIRITED SOULFULWHO'S THIS BUTTERFLY SONGSTRESS???If you don't know by now my name is Vanessa B. {aka Miss. Take Notice} but to my fambam && friends I go under Nessa. I could go into tha whole 3rd person mode but thats just not me, soo I'm just gonna tell yah who I am. I've been told I'm unique, crazy, fun, sweet, and a social butterfly, As for my voice people like to say that my singing is like a conjure up images of a smoky night club, A young lady that has found her own voice. I'm as real as they come just to let everyone kno what you see is what you get! So take notice! As you can tell singing is my life, my world, my passion, its what makes me who I am. I always knew I wanted to be a singer since I was little,(Now granted I know almost everyone says that! lol but in this case its true), Music runs in my blood! I use to close myself up in my grandmas room get out her old record player and listen to Shirley Horn, The Sherells, Nina Simone, The Temptations, Ect. I'd listen to them over and over again, close my eyes and sing pretend I'd be on stage. There was always a song I'd be singing or humming, carrying around my fisher price recorder and recording songs over and over again. Sing in the shower at the top of my lungs. I always say...'I didn't come outta the womb screamin, I came outta the womb singin!' I didn't really get into bein on stage till I was around 10 years old. Course I was a very shy growing up, But I was always in a choir in grade school, I sung in church, I did alot of recitals. At the age of 12 I started to take voice lessons and at first my vocal teacher didn't want to take me she said I was to young but after she heard me sing she wanted to work with me. I took lessons all the way up till my senior year of high school in 2003. My vocal teacher had me do alot of operaettas it helped me learn fast how to control my voice and expand my vocal range, but it was the sweet sounds of Billie Holiday, Etta James and Whitney Houston that made me know that Blues, R&B, and Gospel was where my heart lived. So after my vocal lessons had stopped I went and worked with a few other vocal coaches and it lead me to the Blues Festival at the 'Blues to the Point' at the river front in Carrollton(my home town), There were singers from all over came to perform and everyone around different areas came to hear them. I was blessed to be chosen to sing a few songs, by the time it was over I was taken more seriously about my singing that this is what I was going to do for the rest of my life. I live for that moment on stage, the lights, the sounds, the way your heart beats, as you walk on stage you can only hear yourself breathing, the crowd how silent they get you can hear a pin drop and you sing that first note, then the rush you get all over your body after the performance is over. After I graduated I took alittle time away and not sang as much to figure what I wanted to do with my life college, or tech school but I knew something was missing in my life. So when I was asked to sing in a Christmas concert I knew it was a sign from God telling me that I need to get myself back on stage that I had to get back out singing so I found places to sing. I craved that stage, that spot light, Its a craving that can never be filled you can never have enough so I was asked to do the national anthem at baseball games, basketball games, July 4th events, I also did alot of contests, I still do. Ones I have done in the past 4-H talent show, Wine Festivals, but my big contest I always looked forward to every year was the Coca Cola Classics at the KY State Fair. There were singers from all over KY that came to the state fair. My final year there I sang, "At Last" and went all the way to the finals one of the best moments of my life. Out of 400 contestants to top 20 then to top 12 it was sucha blast an honor really. I've done Gospel talent shows, Ect..anywhere with music a sound system and a stage I was there!Singing has always been my way to express myself, an outting when I'm down or depressed I just close myself up in the bathroom and start to sing at the top of my lungs and I'll sing, it just relaxs me and brings me peace. When I'm on stage something comes over me and I'm this totally different person. I like to call it my alter-ego. I believe everyone has one and they all have a name. I call mine Sheba, I become confident, got somethin to say and gonna sing my song loud and proud until you stop and listen and know I'm talking to you. To me when I sing any song at all I'm telling a story. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my craft I'll do a song over and over again till I get things right the way I want it. I strongly believe that singing is a God given talent. I know I'd be nothing without God blessing me with this gift, He wouldn't have given it to me if I wasn't supose to do something with it and for that I am forever greatful to him and to all of my friends and fam that have been by my side since the start I'm blessed and greatful for them, You all know who you are!! I love you all!! -- Also I can't forget the haters for their just as important, Those know who they are from my years of being in school to different gigs I thank you cause you've only made this butterfly even stronger, I wouldn't be this strong, independent woman I am today without you! So I send my many thanks!This year I started my own little biz Singing Telegrams I also do Phoneagrams. Its alot of fun and I'm doing what I love and always meeting new people.
